The Kansas Department of Agriculture is offering an internship in our Food Safety and Lodging Program to help organize and assist in communication with our internal and external stakeholders and assisting in daily activities related to the Kansas Food Protection Task Force and grant requirements.

About the Position:

Responsibilities:

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Shadowing Field Inspections

  • Observing Grant Reporting Tasks

  • Assisting with Kansas Food Protection Task Force Activities

  • Answering Phones

  • Scanning Documents into a Database

  • Opening Mail

  • A variety of Other Duties

Qualifications:

  • Applicant should be going into their junior or senior year at an accredited college or university pursuing an advanced degree.

  • Public health, food science, hotel and restaurant management or other related majors are preferred (not required).

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and online databases.

  • Strong communication ability (oral and written).

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to meet deadlines.

  • Creativity and problem-solving skills.
