The Food & Beverage department is responsible for providing exceptional dining experiences and food and beverage services through our restaurants, Tiki bar, and in-room dining outlets.
The Food Runner offers superior customer service to guests with complete knowledge of food and beverage menus, while efficiently performing a variety of food service and clean-up activities. The Food Runner may be positioned in the restaurant, lounge, beach service, or in-room dining areas.
Essential Job Functions:
Provides the highest quality of service possible to guests in an efficient and courteous manner.
Serves food and beverages to guests; maintaining the flow of food orders in and out of the kitchen.
Responsible for setting up and running the restaurant buffets.
Monitors the quality and consistency of all food served from the buffet, including presentation, food temperature, and re-stocking trays.
Assists in setting up for service before the shift starts.
Assists the servers and kitchen staff by plating a meal for presentation to the guest.
Assists wait staff by refilling customers' beverages and accommodating requests for additional condiments, food items or clean/fresh tableware.
Cleans, stocks, and maintains the workstations throughout the shift.
Follows all safety and sanitation policies.
May assist in resetting tables in order to seat new customers as quickly as possible.
Performs related duties as requested by a manager at any time.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous restaurant experience as a food runner or in a similar position preferred.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Must be able to work outdoors; exposed to all weather conditions including wind, rain, or varying temperatures.
Ability to communicate effectively with guests and staff verbally and in written form.
Alcohol Awareness Certification (TIPS Training), CPR and Food Handlers certification a plus.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to carry large and heavy trays on a continuous basis throughout a shift.
Requires the ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
