Position Summary:
Directly responsible for the preparation and presentation of food for patients, staff and guests throughout the hospital.

Minimum Requirements:
Basic diet knowledge.

Preparation and handling of food following HACCP guidelines. Prior food experience in healthcare or restaurant/hotel preferred. Understanding of basic cooking methods, safe and efficient knife skills and ability to follow written and verbal directions.

Education/Licenses/Certifications: Current food handlers permit required. Serve-Safe certification preferred.

For more information, visit our website at Duties Some of what you will be doing: This position, under the supervision of the Dietary Manager, distributes food in a safe and sanitary manner to ensure the nutritional needs of the residents at the Washington Soldiers Home are met. Key Responsibilities: Assist with preparation and service of food to the population of the Washington Soldiers Home. Assist with the sanitation and safety responsibilities associated with the meal service and production process. Push and pull carts to deliver meals and equipment to needed areas throughout the facility. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Must have a current Washington State Food Handler's Card. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of safe food handling practices and sanitation standards, good personal hygiene, safety precautions, care and use of kitchen utensils and equipment. Twelve (12) months experience in a food service setting. Supplemental Information CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted. A criminal background check is required every two years. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position.
