Job Details:

Purpose

Provide production and support for food preparation, which includes but is not limited to cooking, stocking, rotating, serving, and product maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Break down, clean all serving areas and equipment, and properly store, label and date left over food items from the serving / dining area. Take and record temperatures and ensure cleaning and detail cleaning tasks are completed throughout the shift.

  • Collect and document production records before, during and after service.

  • Effectively communicate with customers and coworkers. Seek direction at beginning of shift and keep open communication with Management and staff throughout shift.

  • Greet and interact with customers in a professional and upbeat manner. Serve a high-quality product during open dining hours. Products may include performing short order or made to order cooking, while providing excellent customer service.

  • Set up, stock, clean and replenish the serving area during your shift in compliance with location and food safety guidelines. Monitor, stock, and rotate inventory items. Inventory of items may be in dry storage area, cooler / freezer, or beverage stations.

  • Other related functions as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • HS/GED.

  • Experience following basic work instructions.

  • Experience in stocking coolers, and maintaining work area, and preparing food in a commercial establishment.

  • Experience preparing food in a commercial establishment with significant customer interaction.

  • Able to work independently and with others while working in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills with a professional demeanor.

  • Travis County Food Handlers Card.

US Citizen. Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year or more of food preparation experience in a fast paced/high volume retail food service environment.

  • Six months or more of experience receiving, stocking of dry items, beverages, and frozen merchandise.

  • Demonstrated ability in training and guiding other staff in their duties.

  • Ability to multi-task and work with little supervision.

  • Demonstrated ability to receive, respond, and follow through with written and oral University and Housing and Food policies, procedures and work-related instructions and requests from supervisors, customers, and co-workers.

  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills.

  • Professional demeanor.

Salary Range

$38,480+/negotiable depending on qualifications.
