Sodexo is seeking a Food Operations Manager for Stamford Hospital located in Stamford, CT.

In this role you will have direct oversight of all food operations including At Your Request Patient Dining Program, Retail Operations and Catering. Retail consists of a main cafeteria, a satellite cafe and franchise quick service restaurant. The Food Operations Manager will report to the General Manger. Five unit managers will report directly to the Food Operations Manager. Services are provided to a high level client with high expectations. The ideal candidate will have proven track record of increasing all performance metrics such as participation, revenue, check average and customer and patient satisfaction. A culinary background and proven knowledge of therapeutic diets are preferred. A passion for customer focused service and continual program improvement are essential to the success of the position.

Position Summary

Provides leadership and supervision for the on-site food service exempt and non-exempt level staff in the delivery of our contractual agreement with the client. Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company. Implements business practices in order to uphold company mission, values and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement.Key Duties- Establishes a safe work environment

  • Assumes General Manager's (GM) responsibilities and authority in his/her absence

  • Utilizes Sodexo tools and programs to develop client, customer, and staff relationships, to ensure account retention

  • Implements and fully utilizes all Sodexo tools and programs to ensure financial outcomes

  • Directs daily operations of food service to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources, ensures operating standards and regulatory requirements are met

  • Develops and implements plans, projects, with defined objectives, methods, timetables and budget to support client and Sodexo strategic plan

  • Ensures adherence to all HR standards for Sodexo, client, and regulatory agencies

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement

  • Bachelor's Degree

Basic Management Experience

  • 3 years

Basic Functional Experience

Collaborate with sales managers to ensure understanding and adherence of sales and sales support policies and to address and resolve issues. Ensure adherence to Charter policies and processes, correct utilization of tools and systems, and accurate and complete information is captured and reflected in contracts and sales orders. Recommend changes to policies and establish procedures that affect Sales Operations. Ensure accuracy, speed and volume performance goals are met. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience and attain revenue goals. Manage multiple teams of sales support personnel. Serve as primary point of contact and subject matter expert for assigned sales positions/teams. Collaborate with sales leadership to ensure understanding of and compliance with sales policies and procedures. Identify and develop ways to enhance sales support. Collaborate with sales and service delivery teams to refine processes. Serve as subject matter expert to assist development and implementation of new products, processes and systems. Identify issues and drive resolution. Recruit, hire, train and manage Sales Operations Supervisors. Guide and direct their hiring and personnel management practices. Conduct calibration sessions with other Charter Business personnel to promote quality and process compliance and to improve department performance. Manage team activities and implement team schedules. Manage team schedule adherence. Design and manage internal control procedures. Review and assess team performance. Develop and implement action plans to improve performance. Oversee the development of training material. Manage a portfolio of special projects, including data gathering, analysis, planning, presenting to senior department management, implementation, and post-implementation impact assessment. Take into account the impact of decisions on other departments. Assist with business plans and strategies. Perform other duties as requested.
