Sodexo School Services is seeking an experienced Food Operations Manager for our client in Gary, IN. Come join the Gary Community Schools where doing the right thing for students, today, tomorrow and everyday. We are looking for a dynamic customer focused leader to lead SodexoMAGIC Food Operations at Gary Community Schools.

We are seeking a leader to lead a school district with 14 schools serving over 7,500 students. 2 High Schools 1 Middle School, 11 elementary schools. Great opportunity to grow meals trough expanding a dinner program and driving breakfast participation. In search of a leader with excellent financial and operational excellence acumen.

The ideal candidate has:

• Deliver high quality food service.

• Experience with hiring, on-boarding, and managing corrective counseling.

• Experience working with chefs to assure high food quality, innovative menus and healthy recipes.

• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implements company policies.

• Have culinary and/or restaurant production experience and a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance.

• Ability to work independently and in concert with co-managers to manage the daily operations of the catering department through direct supervision of non-exempt/hourly employees, including hiring, orientating, scheduling, training, and developing employees.

• A background and success in implementing marketing into social media and websites.

• possess dynamic communication skills and will be an ambassador for Sodexo to our customers.

The successful candidate will:

• identify customer needs and expectations;
• ensure that Sodexo and customer goals are aligned and met;
• educate and develop rapport with clients and promote partnerships;
• promote a customer/client centered culture that strives to exceed customer and client needs;
• coordinate all unit catering initiatives to drive sales growth and track results.
• maintain and improve service level resulting in increased customer satisfaction;
• ensure all HAACP standards are followed; and/or
• demonstrate resourcefulness and quick responsiveness to client and customer requests.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement

• Associate's Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience

• 2 years

Basic Functional Experience

• 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
