Responsibilities
Set up counters, salad bars, soup bars, etc.
Serve customers.
Maintain portion control and fill out appropriate paper work for computerized Food Services Program.
Clean and prepare ingredients to make salads; mix salad dressings and place salads on plates.
Make French fries, hot and cold sandwiches, coffee, cook eggs, omelets, burgers, etc.
Slice meat, cut cake, pie, etc. and place on plates.
Keep counters, steam tables, shelves in work area and other equipment such as mixers, fryers, grills, toaster, self-serve machines clean.
Be familiar with products and ingredients used in menu items.
Observe safety and health regulations and maintain highest standards of sanitation.
Work as a waiter or waitress as required.
Physical Requirements
Standing 85% - 100% of the shift
Frequent bending at the waist; able to bend to below the knee
Frequent stooping and/or crouching
Frequent walking back and forth throughout the kitchen, stock room, and food service areas
Frequent twisting and bending of head, neck and torso
Full range of arm movement (extension, twisting, and bending of arm and shoulder, reaching overhead, stirring and mixing, wiping, etc.)
Repetitive wrist movement (e.g. chopping, cutting, slicing, shredding, flipping pancakes and omelets, use of small kitchen utensils, wiping and scrubbing, etc.)
Fine motor skills sufficient for e.g. writing, use of calculator, use thermometer etc.
Able to work in conditions of extreme heat
Able to lift up to 30lbs from the floor to waist height
Able to lift up to 20 lbs. overhead
Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. for a distance of up to 10 feet
Visual and cognitive capability sufficient to read and follow recipes
Tools/Equipment
Will be required to learn to operate and clean a variety of equipment including food slicer, food chopper, grill, self serve machines, food processors, coffee makers, juice machines, etc.
