Food & Drink Editor, Columbus Monthly

Columbus Monthly, the leading voice in Central Ohio food media, is seeking a skilled writer and editor to oversee the magazine's dining coverage.

Responsibilities:

• Manage, edit, contribute to and conceptualize the magazine's Food & Drink section every month.

• Manage, edit, contribute to and conceptualize three to four dining-related features annually, such as Best New Restaurants, Tastemakers and 10 Best Restaurants.

• Stay on top of the local restaurant beat, developing sources within the hospitality industry.

• Collaborate with editors, page designers and freelance writers.

• Oversee Columbus Monthly's weekly food newsletter, Copy & Taste.

• Assist with several Columbus Monthly-sponsored, dining-related events.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or master's in communications, journalism or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Strong background in digital content production and management, including search engine optimization, metrics analysis, social media strategies and digital innovation as well as identifying trending content.

• Experience in magazine publications.

• Advanced knowledge of social media and customer feedback tools, including how to respond and engage customers on digital platforms in the public space.

• Excellent organizational, inter-personal and communication skills.

• Exceptional planning and organizational skills.

• Industry knowledge.

• Keen eye for proofreading and command of AP style.
