Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of the Food & Beverage Attendant is to provide a high level of service to customers. The class is responsible for filling orders, managing the cash register, and stocking and ordering materials. The class works according to set procedures under direct supervision.

KEY FUNCTIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
Opens and closes the Recreation/Concession stand facilities.
Sets up and monitors concessions, sales, and equipment for park facilities.
Answers the telephone and communicates with the public regarding general information.
Monitors all recreational activities, events, and games, and keeps track of the number of participants.
Organizes the equipment room, concession, and inspects equipment.
Sweeps and mops the concession facilities and restrooms.
Cleans recreation/concession facilities and performs basic outside maintenance.
Collects and removes trash from the facilities.
Maintains positive customer relations through customer service.
Prepares food and drinks for customer orders.
Acts as cashier for the register upon opening and balances the register.
Manages the stocking of items and daily inventory checklist.
Places orders of supplies that are needed.
Cleans and vacuums the designated area.
Performs related tasks as necessary.
Education and Experience
High school graduation or GED, or sufficient education to read and write with no experience. Six months of work related experience preferred.
Special Certifications and License
Valid Texas Driver's License
Food Handlers Certification
Independence and Judgement
Minimal judgment; instructions, once established and defined, normally allow the job to be accomplished without direct and/or constant supervision; mostly routine work requiring that employee recognize obvious problems.
Initiative and Ingenuity
Low chance for error because work is routine/repetitive/simple/reviewed carefully; standard procedures: not demanded to come up with creative solutions; refers anything unusual to supervisor.
Supervisory and Responsibility
Does not supervise.
Financial Responsibility
Takes money (fines, fees, etc), gives receipts, does own balancing; handles petty cash.
Level and Frequency of Outside Contacts
Frequent contact with the public or other organizations; interactions may require obtaining cooperation of people; courtesy and tact are required when dealing with moderately difficult or sensitive issues.
Physical Demands
Light physical effort; may require periods of heavy muscular exertion, such as standing, lifting, moving, pulling, pushing, etc. Ability to exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally to move objects.
Responsibility for Equipment and Property
Responsible for use of equipment/property such as office equipment, supplies, etc.; use of a City vehicle.
Working Conditions
Frequent exposure to outdoor elements (several times per week);
