The part-time Food Assistance Program Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient coordination and delivery of food assistance and volunteer services to our clients. The coordinator will oversee the logistics, organization, and implementation of our semi-monthly programs aimed at providing access to nutritious food and transportation options.
Minimum Qualifications:
Core Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Food Pantry
Rotate all inventory in the food pantry
Purchase supplemental items
Coordinate volunteers to stock the pantry and make bags of food for delivery to clients
Coordinate volunteers to pick up food from the Food Bank of Eastern NC
Manage client special dietary requests
Coordinate "Stock the Pantry" collections with local community groups
Provide social media content including photos to the Content Manager
Shabbat Meal Delivery
Communicate with the caterer for number of meals and dietary restrictions
Coordinate delivery routes with volunteers
Coordinate on site volunteers for meal assembly and distribution
Coordinate with the Flower Shuttle for donated flowers to be delivered and recruit volunteers to create bouquets
Food Assistance and Volunteer Assistance Administrative Duties
Coordinate client communications each month for food, meal deliveries and volunteer services
Update client records in database relating to food assistance
Minimum of 2 years experience in volunteer programs preferred
Experience in volunteer coordination, logistics, or program coordination a plus
Ability to manage dozens of volunteer relationships simultaneously
Ability to communicate duties and logistics to volunteers of all ages
Ability to problem-solve, create and implement new programs
Strong administration & organizational skills; experience with databases preferred
Knowledge of appropriate software including: Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and Microsoft PowerPoint
Strong communications verbal and written skills
Ability to work on a team; ability to work independently
