Job Overview

Summary: Working as an fundamental part of our Production Shop Team as a Focus Team Lead you will be

responsible to train, develop and support Mechanic Assemblers, as they disassemble, prep, sub assemble, final

assemble and Dyno-test units. This is a handson position that works with the Production/Plant Manager to coach/lead

the daily production activities of a designated team, to ensure safety, quality and efficiency standards are achieved

in meeting production metrics in the manufacturing of transmissions or differentials.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily Safety checks to ensure work areas and team members are safe

  • Monitors daily performance activity and efficiency by utilizing visual management tools

  • Takes ownership of Safety, Quality, Productivity and the Team Members in their focused work area

  • Provide work direction, training and development to a designated Production Shop Team/Work Area

  • Ensures all equipment is functioning properly and that all safety procedures are followed.

  • Makes day-to-day decisions within team in partnership with Plant Manager

  • Responsible to ensure team is current on Safety training requirements, and write Incident/Accident

  • Manages day to day time and attendance of team

  • Participates in discussions pertaining to team's job performance and personnel actions

  • Responsible for motivating employees and maintaining morale

  • Identify Production Shop goals and evaluate the team's progress

  • Must lead by example, and display a positive work attitude

  • Must ensure team adheres to 5S workplace housekeeping

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent

2-4 years experience

Prior experience in a management role as an individual contributor or comparable industry experience.

Industry experience.

Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes

Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment

Must have the ability to follow instructions, be self-motivated and dependable

Must be adaptable and willing to perform duties in a production oriented environment

Must possess good written and oral communication skills

Must be detailed oriented with good organizational and time management skills

Willingness to obtain and/or maintain valid forklift certification

Must possess computer skills, such as Microsoft Office, with data entry in Excel

Microsoft Navision experience preferred

Previous Mechanic experience

The employee must be able to work a 40 hour work week with overtime that may be required at times.
