FMS Junior Logistics Analyst

This position supports tasking in PMA-265, NAVAIR Head Quarters in Patuxent River, MD. The successful candidate will support the FMS F/A-18 customer and shall provide technical and analytical support services for integration and sustainment planning to the USN FMS IPT for the F/A-18 air vehicle, subsystems, armament, engine, spares and support equipment efforts.

Duties include but not limited to;

  • Developing LOA data; providing independent quantitative resource analysis of integration and sustainment resource requirements; assessing case requirements to ensure effective F/A-18 operations and support programs; reviewing and providing administrative and technical recommendations on aircraft configuration changes, Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Technical Directive kit incorporation, and provide life cycle management support services.

  • Provide recommendations for the development of Life Cycle Cost (LCC) and Total Ownership Cost (TOC) Management Plans as well as providing recommendations for the review and development of Maintenance Plans/Logistics Support Analysis (MP/LSA) records, maintenance tasks and Level of Repair (LOR) Analysis recommendations

  • Coordinating, supporting and attending reviews, meetings, conferences, briefings and other significant support activities and events occurring in CONUS or other country locations, as required, to perform analysis in support of the USN FMS IPT.

  • Analyzing USN FMS IPT pre-case requirements for prospective programs. Recommending life cycle planning alternatives and courses of action that satisfy defined program objectives.

  • Works on logistics and maintainability programs and with logistics and maintenance control organizations on issues such as: technical evaluation and identification of weapons systems logistics requirements and resources; development of logistics support and maintainability programs or plans; systems acquisition requirements analysis; budgetary or financial analysis and control


Bachelors Degree in engineering, science, business administration or equivalent experience. 2 years experience in technical program planning and implementation, contract interpretation, budget development and administration of government projects.

Contract Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma or GED
  • Experience: At least four (4) years of experience in conducting analytical studies applicable to ILS and demonstrated ability to conduct studies, analysis, or evaluations of DoD weapon Systems/equipment.

VIEW JOBS 3/25/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-23T00:00 Title: FMS F/A-18 Propulsion Analyst This position provides Logistics and program support to Naval Air Systems Command's Program Office (PMA-265). Performs and coordinates detailed analysis of the F/A-18 engine systems (F404/F414). This is a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) multi-cases for Kuwait in supporting the Deputy Assistant Program Manager for Logistics (DAPML) for Propulsion and Power. Provide effective logistics support in all logistics elements supporting the delivery of new aircraft engines to include but not limited to acquisition planning, supply support, support/test equipment. Supports customer logistics requirements through the analysis, organization, planning and administration of various phases of day-to-day provisioning, spares, maintenance and/or repair activities. Should have a strong organizational and multi-tasking ability to manage daily program demands. Candidate should have knowledge of the USN Jet Engine Test Instrumentation System (JETI) engine test and associated facilities. Able to be forward thinking and provide proactive solutions. The successful candidate will develop schedules in MS Excel and/or MS Project and monitor milestones for established and new logistical requirements and identification of problem areas. Must have effective communication skills to liaison with logistic element manages and NAVAIR competencies. Will be required to analyze standard contractual documents and technical data. Review customer usage data, customer maintenance practices, customer operation characteristics, and related reports for assigned contracts. Also, will assist to determine spares provisioning or maintenance/repair requirements and research for new repair vendors. Tracks action items, analyzes issues and recommends actions to resolve and support team administrative processes. Reviews/prepares acquisition documentation to ensure effective and efficient support for services, products, equipment, and/or systems specific to F/A-18 engines, upgrades and associated systems. Participates in special projects as required. Basic Qualifications: BA/BS degree. Allowable Substitution; An additional five (5) years of jet engine acquisition or operational experience may be substituted for a BS or BA degree. At least six (6) years of experience in operations, logistics support and maintenance of jet engines. F/A-18 F404/414 experience is required. Of the six years, three (3) years of experience in technical analysis of jet engine operational requirements. Experience or education demonstrating ability to perform ILS and jet engine studies, analysis, and evaluations in support of DoD weapons systems/equipment is required.
