Lunar Transportation: This role is part of the Lunar Transportation business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.
As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers you will be the Technical Lead for our Gas Generation team on Lunar Transportation. You will provide technical leadership to the team, supporting members of your team, advising on technical approaches, and bringing your experience to bear on our most challenging technical problems in cryogenic propellant systems. In particular, you will architect a system to convert cryogenic liquid to gaseous fuel for use on lunar landers. As part of your role, you will mentor & train other team members. Work will include the complete life cycle of the system from definition, interfaces, conceptual design, detailed design, component development, assembly, verification, and operation. You will plan out your components' schedules, manage risks, and develop mitigation plans for your hardware. You will work with both internal and external suppliers to design, build, test, and analyze components that will take us to the moon!
You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Your day to day work will include the complete life cycle of the system from definition, interfaces, conceptual design, detailed design, component development, assembly, verification, and operation.
Plan out components' schedules, manage risks, and develop mitigation plans for your hardware.
Work with both internal and external suppliers to design, build, test, and analyze components that will take us to the moon!
Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering or related technical subject area
8+ years of experience in fluids and mechanical systems/components
Experience developing, integrating and certifying new cryogenic aerospace systems for flight
Expertise in LH2, LOX, GH2, and GOX applications of one of the following components: heat exchangers, pumps, turbomachinery, or combustors
Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring to small teams of early to mid-career engineers
Excellent fundamental understanding cryogenic fluid behavior and 1D flow analysis
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills with ability to directly interface with external parties including government and commercial entities
Familiar with either agile or waterfall project management
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Willingness to work on-site with occasional travel
Preferred Qualifications:
M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Physics, Systems Engineering or related technical subject area
Systems Engineering experience, specifically requirements and interface definition, management and verification
Experience with upper stages and spacecraft
Experience with the entire life cycle of a propulsion or fluid system
