Essential Job Functions

  • Assist Supervisor with directing and coordinating activities of fluid production personnel assigned to the area.

  • Meet the performance standards for the following positions: Box Erector, Debagger, Filler Operator, Sanitation Operator, Machine Operator-Trine, Machine Operator, and Spot Pack.

  • Ensure quality checks are performed and recorded by all associates.

  • Ensure that finished product quality checks meet specifications prior to entry into the Fluid Warehouse.

  • Communicate with Fluid Production Supervisors and managers concerning daily manufacturing operations.

  • Communicate with other Fluid Production Team Leaders to ensure a smooth transition between shifts.

  • Perform relief duties for all fluid production job-related tasks as necessary.

  • Accurately complete and/or record all necessary documentation associated with job-related tasks and operating parameters.

  • Ensure machine set ups are accurate before start-up and throughout the shift.

  • Maintain a high level of safety towards people, equipment, and building structures.

  • Inspect equipment to ensure it is safe for use and where necessary completes and forwards work order requests to the Fluid Production Supervisor.

  • Inspect and replace damaged materials and products.

  • Keep an orderly and clean work environment.

  • Set a good example on a daily basis by his/her actions and attitude.

  • Provide supervisor input concerning associate performance.

  • Ability to work overtime during peak production periods to ensure customer demands are met.

  • Maintain adherence to work hours scheduled specifically starting, quitting, lunch and break schedules.

  • Perform all duties within established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations and safety guidelines.

  • Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements. Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Safe Quality Food (SQF) 2000 Systems. Is accountable to the Turkey Hill Food Safety and Quality Principles.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of continuous improvement and lean methodology.

  • Works effectively with department and cross-functional teams to define and implement process improvements that provide value to the customer.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to transition between working in an environment that is dry and humid to damp and cold.
