A key member of the Albireo FLS team, the Superintendent will be responsible for maintaining and meeting project schedules, material delivery, system programming, start-up and check out, performance of installers, and the timely execution of fire alarm, security, and specialty system projects.

  • Provide customer and co-worker support.
  • System programming, start-up, and pre-test, and final test as required.
  • Assisting PM, sales reps, and estimators with project scope review, and system design.
  • Coordination of all assigned projects with customer, AHJ when required, and PM.
  • Oversee and assist with multiple ongoing projects.
  • Understand the contracted scope of work on all assigned projects.
  • Work with PM to identify any possible required RFIs and/or change orders.
  • Oversee the performance of our installers, technicians, and subcontractors to ensure that all work is completed on time, on schedule, and to specification.
  • Identify any filed performance issues to the PM.
  • Assist PM in monthly labor and material cost forecasting for assigned projects.
  • Assist PM in material ordering, tracking, and delivery.
  • Maintain company, and any customers, required safety processes and procedures.
  • Maintain, track, oversee, and produce required project documentation, dailies, safety, etc.
  • Maintain up to date As-Built documentation throughout project lifecycle.
  • Assist PM and engineer to coordination of final Turnover Package and General User Training.
  • Assist PM and engineer with the project turn over package to the service department.


  • System Programming, Checkout, Startup and System Commissioning.
  • Minimum of 5 years in the fire alarm industry.
  • Strong computer skills required including MS Office and MS Project.
  • Firm understanding of reading and understanding shop drawings.
  • Ability to read and interpret project design documentation.
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
  • In depth knowledge and understanding of local and state code, IFC and NFPA.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Customer sites will require COVID-19 vaccination.

Desirable Skill Set

  • NICET II or higher.
  • Manufacturer certifications AutoCall, EST3, Notifier, JCI, Hirsch, Bosch, and Qugnify.
  • Project financial reporting and forecasting.
  • MS Dynamic AX.
  • MS Dynamic CRM.
  • AutoCAD.
  • Bluebeam.

This is an opportunity for the right candidate to build a long-term career at one of the most innovative and growth-oriented building companies in the United States.</p><p>Qualified candidates have demonstrated the ability to build projects in excess of $15 million dollars and/or work under the supervision of a Sr. Project Superintendent as part of a larger project team.</p><p>Duties and Responsibilities</p><ul><li><p>Demonstrate a thorough basic knowledge of the project plans and specifications, schedule (including the sequencing / phasing of the project and those activities that comprise the critical path on the project) and the project estimate.</p></li><li><p>Assist the Senior or Lead Project Superintendent on the project with the implementation, management and enforcement of the Kitchell Safety Program and the Site Specific Safety Plan on the project.</p></li><li><p>Perform daily safety inspections of the project and enforce the requirements of Kitchell Safety Program, Site Specific Safety Plan, and OSHA Guidelines as necessary to provide a safe work environment for the personnel on site as well as other personnel that may be directly affected by the project.</p></li><li><p>Assist the senior or Lead Project Superintendent on the project with the implementation, management and enforcement of the Kitchell Quality Assurance Program and comprehensive quality control that enforces the requirements of the contract specifications, drawings and industry standards.</p></li><li><p>Assist the senior or Lead Project Superintendent with the administration and monitoring of all storm water prevention and fugitive dust regulations and prevention measures per the project's Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan and applicable environmental quality regulations.</p></li><li><p>Establish an effective and professional on-site working relationship with the owner, architects, engineers and inspectors related to the project.</p></li><li><p>Prepare and distribute Project Daily Reports which are to contain information related to, but not be limited to crew sizes, manpower count, detailed description of work performed by area / floor for each trade partner as well as equipment used, weather conditions, construction progress, issues and delays.</p></li><li><p>Assist with building, maintaining and updating a thorough and accurate Project Schedule.</p></li><li><p>Maintain a current and updated set of drawings (electronic or paper) in the field and help ensure that our Trade Partner personnel are using same.</p></li><li><p>Work with Project Engineers as an additional resource to ensure shop drawings and submittals are properly coordinated and are in adherence with contract drawings.</p></li><li><p>Assist with developing and implementing techniques, methods and systems for the project. Recommend improvements in work methods and materials to enhance quality, safety, productivity and management.</p></li><li><p>Assist with the effective management of our Trade Partners in a manner that is conducive to a successful and timely project completion.</p></li><li><p>Conduct Weekly Safety Meetings and Trade Partner Coordination Meetings at the discretion / direction of the Senior or Lead Project Superintendent.</p></li><li><p>Participate in the management of Kitchell Self Performed work force personnel as directed by the Senior or Lead Project Superintendent.</p></li><li><p>Assist with establishing and maintaining &quot;work to complete&quot; and &quot;pre-punch&quot; lists throughout the project duration to minimize corrective work at the end of the project.</p></li><li><p>Assist with establishing and managing the completion of Kitchell pre-punch and Architect / Owner punch-lists.</p></li><li><p>Assist with close-out procedures in accordance with the contract documents and procedure manual.</p></li></ul><p>Education and Experience:</p><ul><li><p>Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field and a minimum of five (5) years of field experience in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field.</p></li><li><p>OR nine (9) years of field experience in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or related field.</p></li><li><p>OSHA 30 certificate, or ability to attain one within 12 months of hire.</p></li><li><p>Valid Motor Vehicle Record with no restrictions or suspensions.</p></li></ul><p>Knowledge and Skills</p><ul><li><p>Knowledge of all elements of commercial construction and understanding of skilled trades.</p></li><li><p>Skilled in-field productivity, and project management software.</p></li><li><p>Intermediate level of technological experience.</p></li><li><p>Excellent verbal, and written skills.</p></li></ul><p>Work Environment</p><ul><li><p>This is a Safety Sensitive Position.
