Description:Do you have a passion for Systems Engineering? Are you interested in helping define the future of vertical lift for the Department of Defense?
Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company, is pursuing multiple efforts on Future Vertical Lift (FVL) programs to develop next generation rotorcraft for the Department of Defense. These FVL programs have aggressive schedules that are expected to be fielded within the next 8-10 years; due to the rapid nature of these programs, there is opportunity to support a DoD aircraft program from conceptual design through Required Assets Available and beyond in a short amount of time. The Sikorsky Innovations Systems Engineering team is looking for a Systems Engineer that can thrive in this exciting, dynamic, and challenging FVL program environment. This role will have a direct impact on the future of Sikorsky's rotorcraft business and Sikorsky's standards for MBSE processes and tools.
The candidate will ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer requirements into systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints using MBSE. The candidate will use MBSE to capture requirements, system architecture, interfaces, analyses, and traceability. The system models created will include all levels of the system hierarchy.
The candidate is expected to have a strong systems engineering background and will also perform program technical planning, aircraft systems integration/verification/validation planning, trade studies, and risk analysis for rotorcraft systems and sub-systems. The candidate should have good systems engineering "soft skills" including successfully leading diverse teams, working well in a team environment, being a "systems thinker", building a rapport with customer counterparts, having strong verbal/written communication skills, and being self-driven towards ensuring the product under development will meet the customer's needs.
Individual responsibilities will be commensurate with the candidate's prior experience and education.
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 2 years of professional experience, or no experience with a related Master of Science degree. Related disciplines include but are not limited to: Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Physics.
Previous experience applying systems engineering on large, complex programs in at least one of the following areas: requirements analysis/management, interface management, system architecture definition, integration/verification/validation planning and execution
Strong knowledge of Systems Modeling Language (SysML) (coursework, training, or experience)
Experience applying MBSE using SysML on complex system development efforts (especially where the model is the authoritative source of truth)
Experience using No Magic's MagicDraw/Cameo Systems Modeler/Cameo Enterprise Architecture modeling tools, Teamwork Cloud, and Cameo Collaborator
Previous systems engineering experience on aircraft or rotorcraft systems
Knowledge of Architecture Analysis Design Language (AADL)
Experience with the Army's Architecture Centric Virtual Integration Process (ACVIP)
Object Management Group (OMG) Certified Systems Modeling Professional (OCSMP) certification, preferably to the Model Builder-Intermediate or Model Builder-Advanced levels
INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certification
DoD Secret clearance or the ability to get a clearance
