It is the primary responsibility of the Floral Designer to create innovative floral dcor and lead floral installation or tear down crews for MGM Resorts Events. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resorts International policies, practices and procedures.
Provide specialized design and floral expertise to plan, design and create floral arrangements for events.
Ensure that designs meet corporate and client expectations, are within budget and deadlines are met.
Assign projects and lead crews in floral production and on-site, maximizing employee talents and available resources.
Create floral recipes, cost sheets, order floral products, monitor shipment arrivals.
Interface with internal departments, clients and vendors to resolve issues.
Cultivate a creative and collaborative environment to inspire design and build cohesive teams within the department, division and properties.
Train and educate employees on design techniques and print capabilities.
Monitor vase inventory counts for breakage or loss and expedite reorder and new inventory orders as needed.
Take photos of floral demos to document approved designs.
Assist with loading/unloading of vehicles.
Prepare floral containers and props, and floral carts for refrigeration and delivery.
Sort, organize, clean and restock supplies.
Communicate project status, timelines and delivery information to clients and internal teams.
Become well versed on the Event Image site and fluent in MRE floral inventory.
Adhere to safety procedures and recommend programs to improve production and safety.
Stay current in design trends, floral techniques and vendor products.
Complete all required paperwork, monitor for accuracy and consistency.
Perform all other job related duties as requested.
At least 21 years of age.
At least 4 years of floral design experience.
Advanced knowledge of fresh floral product and design technique.
Portfolio required; must complete a design test within a specific time frame.
Excellent customer service skills.
Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
2 year degree in Floral Design or related field.
At least 2 years of lead or supervisory experience.
At least 2 years of Event experience.
Previous experience working in a similar setting.
