Position Summary

The Floor Tech performs daily cleaning of facility floors, ensuring a clean, attractive facility in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred

  • Prior health care experience preferred

Specific Job Requirements

  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action

  • Must be knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility

  • Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department

  • Must perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation

  • Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.

  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information

  • Must understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures

  • Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training

Essential Functions

  • Must be able to maintain floors by sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, shampooing, stripping, waxing, and buffing

  • Must exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients

  • Must be able to assist in the evacuation of patients

  • Must demonstrate dependable, regular attendance

  • Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment

  • Must be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team

  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

Examples of the tasks and job functions being performed include but are not limited to: Job Duties: * Maintaining a clean and healthful working environment * Preforming and correcting daily 5-S audits * Preform periodic safety inspections * Inspect and take corrective actions on hazardous waste storage * Set up rooms for meetings when required, chairs, tables, etc. * Cleaning lunch areas, bathrooms, offices, etc. * Operate the floor sweeper and floor scrubber * Empty trash bins via forklift as needed * Sweep, mop, dust, etc. as needed * Clean windows, hallways, walls, as needed * Operate a forklift for various reasons * Maintenance to the outside grounds of the plant, rake, sweep, shovel and cleaning snow or debris from sidewalks * Notifying management of need for repairs * Empty trash barrels throughout the plan areas Job Requirements: * High school diploma or general education degree (GED) along with related trade school education, * apprenticeship and/or experience (0-3 Years experience) * Demonstrated mechanic experience, aptitude, and knowledge of trade mathematics * Fork Truck, Overhead Crane, Hazmat, Confines Space, and LOTO training (to be provided by Company) Working Conditions: * Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance * Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle, feel, reach, and hear * Occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch in confined and awkward positions, crawl, and smell * Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee exposed to moving mechanical parts, cold, hot, dirty, and dusty * locations. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne dust. Noise level usually moderate. PPE including gloves, safety shoes, harness, hardhat, dust mask, hearing protection, protective clothing, and safety glasses required.
