Healthcare Services Group (HCSG) typically services long term care and nursing facilities and is now hiring a Heavy Housekeeper/Floor Tech in your area! HCSG has a custom, state of the art training program!

Position Summary

  • Heavy housekeepers/floor care technicians are generally responsible for the overall floor maintenance of hard surface and carpet (dust and wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction & bonneting) of areas that include offices, resident rooms, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells and other public areas such as dining rooms.

  • Performs housekeeping and cleaning activities within well established guidelines and assigned areas to ensure that quality standards, safety guidelines and customer service expectations are met.

  • The heavy housekeeper/floor technician is responsible for satisfactory and timely completion of assigned cleaning area according to schedule.

  • Reports equipment/cleaning product needs and or malfunctions to supervisor in a timely fashion.

  • Is responsible for the safe and proper mixing and use of cleaning solutions and adheres to all safety precautions.

  • The heavy housekeeper/floor care technician is responsible for collecting trash/recycling/soiled linen from the units and for the proper disposal of trash/recycling/laundry in an outside/soiled linen barrel container.

  • Work involves pulling and pushing, carrying weight up to 50 pounds, twisting, bending and reaching from floor to waist height and from waist to above head.

  • Applies stripper to floors (slippery surface) to remove old wax then refinishes floors with new wax product.

  • Some outside work may be assigned, including policing grounds.

  • Represents HCSG in a positive manner; is able to follow oral instructions, is pleasant, tactful and courteous and cooperative with supervisor, co-workers, residents and client staff.

  • The heavy housekeeper/floor care technician consistently embodies the characteristics necessary to drive the Company's Purpose, Vision, Values, and DNA.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

  • Minimum 1 years' experience in floor care preferred, but on-site training is provided.

  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

  • Must be able to be at work on time.

  • Must be able to speak, read and write English to communicate effectively with stakeholders.

  • Ability to cooperate with other employees.

  • Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis.

  • Knowledge of how to strip, wax and burnish floors with minimal to no assistance upon completion of initial training period.

  • Must be able to accomplish all responsibilities without supervision or other employee assistance after the training period is completed, and do so without injury to oneself or other individuals.

  • Must be able to fully understand and complete all In-Services.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 50 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 50 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.

  • Must live in service area. No relocation costs.

VIEW JOBS 11/8/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-06T00:00 Position Information FTE: 1.000000 Exempt: No Any Shift: 40 Hrs/Wk; 80 Hrs/Pay Weekend & Holiday Rotation: Per schedule Pay Grade: 12 Position Summary This position prepares the surgical suite for the procedure by assisting the surgical technologist along with the registered nurse in gathering equipment, instruments, and supplies to perform the procedure. Assure all supplies and equipment are available for the procedure and in working condition. Assists the RN circulator and anesthesia provider in preparation of the patient to include foley catheter placement, tourniquet placement, placement of intravenous catheters, cricoid pressure application, and other procedures as needed. This position assists the surgeon by providing exposure, aid in hemostasis, closure and other intraoperative technical functions that help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with maximum results for the patient. In providing proper draping, retracting, suctioning, sponging, suturing, tissue handling and cautery techniques. The assistant will apply appropriate dressing material specific to procedure. This position assists the surgeon in the care of the patient while in the operating room through utilization of the operating room team concept. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL: Responsibilities: (50%)* Demonstrates knowledge of surgical procedure, anatomy and physiology, and operative techniques related to specific procedure. (20%)* Assures all necessary supplies, equipment or instruments are opened or available. Ensure items are charged for appropriately by confirming with nurse and surgical technologist. (20%)* Assists physician as directed with proper positioning, draping, retracting, suctioning, sponging, tissue handling, cautery techniques, stapling devices, and suturing. (10%)* Assists team members in transportation, positioning and total care of patients. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Demonstrates a broad range of knowledge with proficiency in preparation of surgical procedures and has versatility in staffing as a surgical technologist if needed. Participates in orientation, ongoing competencies, education, and staff development.(including staff meetings). Participates in regulatory surveys. Participates in performance improvement activities. Fulfills on-call responsibilities and extra shift coverage as needed. Demonstrates a positive, courteous, and helpful attitude toward patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers. Remains calm and efficient when working in stressful situations. Shares information and reports significant changes and./or abnormal findings to appropriate team members. Attend and/or participate in professional association activities and programs to assure being current on regulations, guidelines, and professional standards of care. Qualifications Education: Essential: * High School Diploma or GED * General Studies Credentials: Essential: * Cert Surgical First Assistant * Basic Life Support Credential equivalent experience: Essential: * Certification is conferred by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), and the National Surgical Assistant Association (NSAA), and American Board of Surgical Assistants (ABSA). Initial certification as a Certfied Surgical First Assistant (CSFA), Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA), and Surgical Assitant-Certified (SA-C) is based upon satisfactory performance of the national certifying examination from each organization's credentialing body, following completion of an accredited program in surgical assistating or another pathyway acceptable to the NBSTSA, NSAA, AND ABSA. If not obtained, must be obtained within two years of signing job description. EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS: Maintain certification CSFA, CSA, or SA-C. If career ladder implemented at Medical Center, first assistant must complete skills/practice competency as described in the career ladder for current first assistant level. Manual dexterity and mechanical skills needed to properly use and hold surgical instruments. Interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups and interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner. 5 years' experience as a CST preferred.
