Cleans and maintains all carpeted and hard surfaces in the facility. Floor Technician I performs preventive maintenance on floor equipment at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance. Floor Technician I participates in the department's continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.


Performs assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Services Department.

Performs cleaning and maintenance of all floors; carpets, tile, concrete and brick flooring.

Completes work assignments in a timely manner.

Utilizes the appropriate chemicals, supplies and cleaning techniques according to procedure and manufacturers recommendations.

Performs restoration functions on highly soiled or worn areas.

Operates and maintains all equipment correctly and safely.
Observes safety precautions al all times. Uses safety signs, WET FLOOR and ropes off sections of floor for cleaning where appropriate.

Follows all infection control practices including hand hygiene techniques, standard precautions and isolation precautions.

Reports safety hazards as appropriate.
Replenishes supplies; notifies the supervisor when supplies need to be ordered.

Always introduces self to patients, families and visitors.
Assists visitors with directions whenever requested.
Maintains set quality standards when performing job duties.
Ability to do work on his/her own with normal supervision.
Maintains and ensures age-specific precautions. (See age-related competency form)

Performs other duties as assigned.

Able to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.



  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • 1 months to 6 months related experience and/or training.


Meets dress code standards; adheres to dress code of a specific unit.

Completes annual educational requirements.

Maintains regulatory requirements.

Reports to work on time and as scheduled; completes work within designated time.

Works day, evening or night shift as assigned.

Wears identification while on duty; uses computerized punch time system correctly.

Completes in-services and returns in timely fashion.

Attends annual review and departmental in-services, as appropriate.

Ensures patient confidentiality.

Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.

Represents the organization in a positive and professional manner.

Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.

Communicates the mission, ethics and goals of the facility as well as the focus statement of the department.

Must be able to perform general ultrasound procedures. (Adult and Pediatric - abdominal, OB, pelvic, and small parts). Performs procedures according to physician’s orders in the patient’s chart or per prescription on outpatients. As a member of the care team, the Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for working collaboratively with other members to assure the safe and accurate delivery of patient care. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: * Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others. Considers mission, vision and values in developing services, standards and practices * Responsible for performing ultrasound procedures in a timely manner. * Prepares necessary supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures. * Performs necessary quality control on equipment. * Responsible for the care and cleanliness of equipment, supplies, and work area. * Performs all US procedures as per procedure protocols * Performs at a proficient level, all tasks within the specialty area. * Accurately comprehends and interprets verbal orders and directions. * Able to perform the necessary functions on the facility's computer system. * Completes accurate documentation on patient records according to policy. * Documents all pertinent patient information on worksheets for Radiologist to interpret. * Ensures exams are verified and completed for charging on PACS/RIS systems. * Demonstrates accuracy, and the ability to closely follow established procedures. * Must be able to be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues. * Must project a professional image. * Must be willing to rotate to other facilities as needed. * Maintain Texas Department of Health (TDH), American College of Radiology (ACR), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), and Joint Commission standards. * Maintain equipment and procedure competencies. * Complete and update all employment requirements, including Health.edu, Employee Health, and Radiology Competencies, Credentials, etc. * Call will be required unless otherwise specified. * Other duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS: POSITION EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS: * Associate of Science degree in radiology, diagnostic ultrasound, or a certificate of successful completion from an accredited school of ultrasound or recognized educational program. * Must be eligible for American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) certification. * Must be RVT. * ARDMS certification is preferred. * BLS certification required. * Good written and verbal communication skills required. Spanish preferred. * Ability to read, write and speak English * Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE¬: * Two (2) years experience in a healthcare setting as a Vascular Technologist. * Must have a firm knowledge in anatomy and pathology. * Must be competent in performing general ultrasound procedures (adult and pediatric). * Must be able to perform arterial and venous studies. * Present images and preliminary findings to physicians and the healthcare team. * Must have excellent customer service skills. * Requires good communication and organizational skills. * Requires reasoning ability and good independent judgment.
