FLOODPLAIN MANAGER (Building Inspections): Serves as the department's flood hazard mitigation specialist. Maintains all administrative records for the National Flood Insurance and Community Rating Systems programs, analyzes department flood and quality assurance programs/services, policies and procedures and makes recommendations for revisions/additions. Provides flood zone determination information to insurance companies, banks, realtors and the general public upon request. Calculates impact fees and requests 911 addresses for mobile homes and building permits as needed. Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent AND 18 months of professional level experience in the assigned field of floodplain management, regulatory administration, or commercial and residential permitting
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Must be computer proficient
Must possess certification as a Certified Floodplain Manager through the Association of State Floodplain Managers or achieve certification within eighteen (18) months of emplo
All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment.
