SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES

A Floating Teller has the responsibility to take ownership of all tasks and challenges that they encounter in the operation of their assigned position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Serves customers quickly, accurately, efficiently and confidentially according to South State Bank Service Standards.

  • Knows and understands the products and services offered by the Bank. These include facts and features, benefits and advantages, rules and regulations, price structure and a simple definition of each service offered.

  • Able to identify customer needs and expectations by listening for clues. Seeks the opportunity to expand customer relationships by making referrals as outlined in the goals for this position.

  • Presents a neat and professional personal appearance, in accordance with bank policy.

  • Knows and ensures compliance to all banking regulations to include Regulation CC and Bank Secrecy Act.

  • Perform the following teller duties:

  • Processes transactions for savings, checking, and loan accounts

  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area

  • May assist in guiding and training new tellers

  • May allow customers access to safe deposit boxes

  • Cashes checks and processes savings withdrawals within assigned limits and in accordance with prescribed procedures

  • Sells certified checks within assigned limits

  • Balances transactions on a daily basis

  • May assist with servicing/balancing ATM.

  • May utilize the branch capture system

  • Knows and follows policies and procedures in completing transactions, minimizing operational errors and maintaining a proper work flow

  • Knows and follows the branch's security and audit procedures and understands the function and operation of the security devices

  • Assures that branch records, reports and other correspondence resulting from customer development attempts are correct, timely and are properly distributed

FLOATING TELLER FUNCTIONS:

  • Teller Duties Only

  • May be assigned to work at any branch within the region

OTHER DUTIES

  • Accepts other duties as assigned

  • New Employee Orientation

  • Teller Training and Relationship Skills

  • Annual Regulatory Compliance training

The successful candidate in this position must be friendly and genuinely interested in helping others. Driver Examiner 1 After Six months of employment 2.5% increase After 12 months of employment 2.5% increase After 18 months of employment (promotion to Driver Examiner 2) 5% increase TOTAL 10% increase Duties: * Working with citizens to ensure applications, records and documents are completed accurately. * Accompanying drivers in vehicles to evaluate their ability to adhere to Georgia's driving laws. * Conducting driving examinations for motorcycle and commercial licenses in accordance with state law and regulations. * Operating visual testing equipment. * Accurately collecting payments via cash or credit cards Minimum Qualifications: * Must be eighteen (18) years of age * Completion of a high school diploma or GED is required * A valid Georgia Class C or equivalent License is required and must be maintained while employed in this position. * At least one (1) year of Face-to-face Customer Service experience within the last five years * At least one (1) year of recent Face-to-face experience with cash transactions including handling cash, daily reconciliation, and processing credit card payments within the last five years. * Comfortable working with computer and internet technology. Preferred Qualifications: * At least three (3) years of Face-to-face Customer Service experience within the last five years * At least three (3) years of recent Face-to-face experience with cash transactions including handling cash, daily reconciliation, and processing credit card payments within the last five years * Live within 30 miles of the Customer Service Center for which you are applying * Bilingual skillset preferred Working Conditions: Road tests are conducted throughout the year in a variety of weather conditions including rain, wind, summer heat and cold winter days. Testing begins in the early morning hours and continues through the early evening hours. The test runs approximately 30 minutes. Conditions of Employment: * A valid Georgia driver's license is required and must be maintained while employed in this position. Non-Georgia residents must have a recognized equivalent license. If a valid Georgia driver's license has not been held for at least three years at the time of application, you will be required to obtain a Motor Vehicle record from the previous state of licensure prior to hire. * Successful completion of the CCKE (Certified Commercial Knowledge Examiner) Certification, a national certification is required by all employees who issue driver's licenses. * Employees who conduct CDL (Commercial Driver's License) road tests must successfully complete the CDL Examiner Certification and the CCE (Certified Commercial Examiner) Certification. * Employees must maintain these requirements to continue employment with DDS.
