We are looking for an experienced Medication Aide/Tech to help out in different buildings. Must be willing to travel to different surrounding counties. Very competitive wage scale.

We will be adding to our team a Certified Medication Aide(CMA) to work with our Assisted Living and/or Memory Care residents. Our CMA is certified to administer medications, in accordance with state and federal laws, under the supervision of licensed staff to residents within Americare communities.


  • Licenses/Certifications/Education:

  • High school graduate or minimum age of 18 year of age

  • Completion of certified nurse's aide course with passing score

  • Completion Certified Medication Technician course and obtain certification in current state

  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, co-workers, visitors and families

  • Ability to and adhere to HIPPA regulations requiring confidentiality of resident information

  • Demonstrate accuracy in observation, performance and reporting

  • Required to work under direct supervision of licensed nurse

  • To become and maintain license as CMA with insulin certification

  • To obtain 12 hours of in-service training each year


  • Administers prescribed medications to residents and maintains related medical records under supervision of licensed nurse.

  • Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records name of drug and dosage and time of administration on specified forms or records such as MAR.

  • Presents medication to resident and observes ingestion or other application, or administers medication, using specified procedures.

  • Takes vital signs or observes resident to detect response to specified types of medications and prepares report or notified designated personnel of unexpected reactions.

  • Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered.

  • Gives direct patient care, such as bathing, dressing and feeding of residents and assisting with prescribed treatments.

  • May receive supply of ordered medications and apportion, mix or assemble drugs for administrator to resident. May record and restock medication inventories.

To perform this job successfully, the Commercial Service Technician I may be expected to perform some or all of the duties listed. * Performs routing and emergency service calls as set forth by the branch manager. * Troubleshoots and identifies malfunctioning or inoperative equipment on alarm systems by using electronic testing equipment. * Replaces or repairs malfunctioning or inoperative equipment. * Provides documentation of service and hours worked. * Provides documentation and completes reports of inventory and vehicle usage. * Performs preventative and routine maintenance, as needed on existing alarm systems. * Determines backup components to be maintained in stock. * Trains new users in operation of alarm system equipment. * Maintain good driving record. * Drives company vehicle to perform duties. * Comply with Protection One's vehicle policy. * Other duties as assigned by leadership.
