Flint - Leadership Development VISTA - Clark Commons

Hosted at the Crim Fitness Foundation. Through leadership development and community revitalization in Flint neighborhoods, the Neighborhood Impact VISTA Program (NIVP) strives to eradicate poverty in Flint by prioritizing economic opportunity in the heart of where Flint residents live.

We are a new program hosted at the Crim Fitness Foundation through the Neighborhood Impact department, where we believe urban design, accessibility, and policy can make or break the quality of life of Flint residents. Member Duties : Establish connections with neighborhood stakeholders Share updates and ideas at various meetings Develop a project management training curriculum for South Flint community Create a project management guide and resources database Identify community leaders interested in public service employment or board services Collaborate with Clark Commons Program Coordinator and Doyle Ryder Elementary to identify potential leaders Recruit mentors to offer individualized support to community members Connect leaders to community members based on common interests and goals Assist in designing project evaluation frameworks Provide guidance on defining measurable outcomes and data collection Integrate leadership development components into project management Foster skills essential for effective project management and leadership Seek professional certifications for community members Document success stories of community members in public service
