Responsibilities:

MTSI is seeking Flight Test Engineer (FTE) candidates to lead and instruct students on Flight Sciences at the USAF Test Pilot School. This position is 50% time; duty location is at Edwards AFB.

The following specific duties are anticipated:

• Instruct on aerospace vehicle performance, flying qualities, systems, and flight test management, including ground and airborne conduct of flight test.

• Teach curriculum topics to include aircraft flying qualities & flight test techniques, augmented flight control systems, stores testing & structures, limit cycle oscillations & flutter, aircraft departure from controlled flight, military standards evaluations, first flight test & evaluation, avionics integration, and human factors.

• Serve as FAA certified Flight Instructor for Gliders to teach TPS curriculum sorties

• Other duties in-line with MTSI's core value to "Own and Solve our Customer's Problems."

• 50%-time support at Edwards AFB, CA is required.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience in all phases of planning, executing, and managing flight tests and a reputation of being a team player.

• Minimum of 10 years' experience Instructing Flight Test Engineers at either USAF TPS, Navy TPS, National TPS, or USAFA

• Maturity and professionalism to lead the execution of a flight test missions, briefings and oversee team of discipline engineers to support Flight Test Operations.

• Work well in a team environment as well as independently.

• Experience generating test plans, flight test mission material, post-mission, and detailed final reports.

• Position requires willingness to accept changing and evolving roles & responsibilities in support of customers' requirements and need.

Qualifications Desired:

• USAF Test Pilot School Graduate

• Developmental Test experience.

Education Requirements:

Required

• Master's degree in a STEM field. Ph.D in a STEM field is preferred.

Travel:

Travel up to 10% may be required for this position.

Clearance Requirements:

Secret clearance is required.

U.S. Citizenship is required

The pay range for this position in California is $year to $year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
