You will be a C-130/L-382 instructor pilot for company and customer pilots and aircrew during syllabus training and routine currency flights. Conducts classroom and simulator training and duties as a Flight Examiner within the scope of the customer regulations. Pilot C-130/L-382 aircraft during acceptance and functional check flights and for the engineering and experimental test flights to validate/verify compliance with FARs and military specifications, determine operational suitability, and conduct operational tests.

What You Will Be Doing

Provide pilot input to flight test, modification, engineering, and training teams. Assist engineering with the development of ground and flight test procedures.

Review, validate, verify, and update flight and customer operational manuals and source material. Participate in test plan development, test plan reviews, Safety Standard Boards, First Flight Readiness Reviews, and Design Review Boards. Assist with the development of Temporary Operating Procedures and Aircraft Operating Limitations for flight test programs.

Perform office duties as requested by the customer/manager, i.e. Training or Flight Standards offices.

Manage the customer's Formal Training Unit. Schedule initial and recurring training for all current and incoming customer and company crew members, to include ground, simulator, and flight training.

Oversee the training and development of new aircrew from accession through full qualification and ensure recurring currency and evaluation requirements are fully satisfied. Develop courseware and oversee implementation to include drafting training publications, maintaining training and evaluation records, and scheduling and contracting outside support, such as commercially procured flight simulators and academic training. Maintain qualification and certification records for all customer and company personnel.

Administer evaluations and document certification as nominated by the customer. Implement quality and inspection programs as required. Serve as the customer's focal point for aircrew qualifications and training, Will be required to obtain an FAA ATP certificate.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Have a type rating and a minimum of 3,000 total flight hours experience.

  • Of which a minimum of 1,500 hours in C-130/L-382 experience.

  • Have C-130/L-382 experience within the last 12 months.

  • Have been qualified on Night Vision Goggles, tactical air land and airdrop.

  • Meet and comply with FAA physical regulatory qualification and requirements to perform flight duties as a contract pilot.

  • Comply with AFI 10-220, Contractor Flight and Ground Operations, as well as with all applicable Air Force flying training regulations and flight training programs.

  • Have experience as an Air Force Instructor Pilot or Air Force Evaluator Pilot.

  • Instruct ground training, initial qualifications, and refresher courses within the approved syllabi.

  • Develop training courseware, syllabi, and test materials for various pilot training courses.

  • Must have a TS/SCI clearance.

  • Willing to work evenings/weekends and willing to travel domestically/internationally for up to 30 days.

Desired Skills:

  • FAA Certificates: Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) - Airplane multi-engine land.

  • Experience in courseware development, platform instruction, simulator instruction, and in-flight instruction.

  • Experience in writing and/or reviewing technical publications.

  • Graduate of weapons or tactics school, safety school, or advanced instrument school.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees.

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
