Description of the job, responsibilities and duties:

The Airline Coordinator is responsible for performance of daily quality checks for key international flights, both in-house and on the field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English

  • Strong analytical, verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Must be able to interpret and comprehend Menu and Flight Galley Specifications

  • Must posses interpersonal communication and customer service and high level of professionalism

  • Must be able to apply safety standards and guidelines: follow all Ramp Safety, AOA Safety & Security Rules and Regulations

  • Must be able to work in extreme heat and/or cold environment

  • Must be able to walk/stoop/bend/stand for entire work shift

  • Must have good organizational skills and adaptable to frequent changes

  • Must be able to use fingers & hands to handle equipment

  • Must be flexible to work in a 24/7 environment (including nights, weekends, holidays subject to change)

Principal Responsibilities:
(Responsible for all aspects of catering flights to include:)

  • Maintain effective communication and coordination with and between LSG Sky Chefs' management and Customer Service personnel and airline ramp and operations personnel

  • Assign and dispatch drivers. Reassign as necessary

  • Stay informed of flight activity, schedule and gate changes and act accordingly

  • Ensure timely and safe catering of all flights

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues and elevate to managements as needed

  • Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems

  • Assumes other related duties as required or assigned

  • Daily use of various quality forms for AA, and report daily feedback of all AA flight checks discoveries

  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, quality standards, FDA, HACCP, SOP and other regulations

  • Ensure on-time delivery and accurate production and/or catering of all flights

  • Monitor and assist in ensuring compliance with HACCP and ramp safety SOP

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Must have valid driver's license with safe driving record; CDL a plus

  • Must successfully complete on-the-job driver training program and obtain a SIDA and Customs Seal

  • Must be in current position for 60 days. Good attendance record

  • Must have ability to work under pressure while maintaining composure

  • Must be a team player, with the ability to work a flexible schedule

Qualifications:

  • Strong sense of urgency and problem solving skills

  • Good Communication Interacting with the AA Flight Crew and the Tower and be able to trouble shoot any catering issues

  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees and customers, both internal and external.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail

  • Must be able to pass a ten year background check to obtain an AOA badge

  • Ability to interpret Flight Specifications, comprehend Menu and Flight Galley specifications.

  • Prior experience with LSG Sky Chefs preferred.

  • Must have ability to work under pressure while maintaining composure.

  • Must be a team spirited individual.

  • Must be flexible on days off and start time.

EDUCATION: * High school diploma or equivalency required. * College degree is preferred. WORK EXPERIENCE: * Previous flying experience in B-737 or aircraft above 12,500 pounds is preferred. * Previous experience as classroom Instructor or simulator Instructor is preferred. * Previous experience as a Flight Instructor/Check Airman/Evaluator is preferred. LICENSING/CERTIFICATION: * Must possess an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating. * Must possess a valid motor vehicle license. * Must be able to acquire a B-737 type rating. PHYSICAL ABILITIES: * Must have vision ability to view and read computer/video displays on a frequent basis. * Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds in order to move training support equipment from one location to another. * Must be able to participate in the FAR directed Line Observation Program and be able to enter and exit the aircraft under normal and emergency conditions. * Must be able to enter and exit the flight simulator under normal and emergency conditions. SKILLS/ABILITIES/KNOWLEDGE/WORK STYLE: * Must have a good working knowledge and experience in the operation of training equipment that includes computer based training workstations. * Must have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. * Must have the ability to read technical aircraft documents, follow technical instructions, learn and understand new technical concepts and prepare written technical documents that will convey information or guidance to others in an understandable manner. * Must possess extensive knowledge of flight training instructional duties along with a good working knowledge of FAR training requirements. * Must possess excellent English verbal communication and interpersonal skills. * Must possess the ability to accomplish accurate work under tight time constraints while maintaining a high degree of flexibility. * Must be able to work various hours as necessary. * Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS: * Must be at least 23 years of age. * Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.
