General Function

As flex worker, this position will allow you the opportunity to select hours and shifts that work best for your busy lifestyle and allow Hy-Vee to take care of our customers. The flex worker will be able to select shifts from multiple stores as demand in business fluctuates.

Flex Coordinator; District Store Director; Store Manager; Online Shopping Manager

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.

  • Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner throughout the store.

  • Makes an effort to learn customers' names and to address them by name whenever possible.

  • Assists customers by:

  • escorting them to the products they're looking for

  • securing products that are out of reach

  • loading or unloading heavy items

  • making note of and passing along customer suggestions or requests

  • performing other tasks in every way possible to enhance the shopping experience

  • Communicates with customers regarding items and timing of their orders.

  • Accurately selects groceries ordered online by customers.

  • Selects highest quality produce, meat, and other fresh products.

  • Selects, scans, and bags items from all temperature zones.

  • Adheres to company policies and individual store guidelines.

  • Reports to work when scheduled and on time.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Upon gathering orders, place in storage at proper temperature and promptly retrieve from storage prior to customer's arrival.

  • Ensures products maintain proper temperature through the entire process.

  • Cart to and place in holding area for pick-up.

  • Lift, carry, and load groceries into customer vehicle.

  • Continually monitors incoming online orders to ensure prompt, on-time fulfillment.

  • Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Ability to work independently and complete daily workload with limited supervision

Working Conditions

The duties of this position are mostly performed in a retail store setting. This position maybe exposed to dust, noise, and temperature extremes. There are possible hazards from moving equipment. There is constant pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects in a day. This is a fast paced work environment.

Pallet jack, box cutter, shopping platform, trash compactor, fork lift, telephone, intercom, cardboard compactor, copier, fax (within wage and hour guidelines)

Physical Requirements

  • Visual requirements include: ability to see detail at near range with or without correction

  • Must be physically able to perform medium work: occasionally lifting or carrying objects of no more than 50 pounds, with frequent standing, walking, and lifting/carrying of objects of no more than 25 pounds

  • Must be able to perform the following physical activities: stooping, kneeling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions

Must be available evenings and nights Job Summary The Direct Care Worker (meds) is required to provide direct care to community residents, primarily for their activities of daily living. In addition, employee will assist with housekeeping and laundry duties, mealtime service, and all other duties assigned by the Executive Director. Duties and Responsibilities: * Assist residents in and out of bed and into wheelchair according to procedure. This may require the assistance of another aide, and/or the use of a gait belt. * Assist residents in bathing. * Assist residents in dressing or undressing. * Assist resident to bathroom and provide peri care as needed. * Take and record vital signs of residents according to community schedule and policies. * Assist residents to dining area for meals. May be required to assist with feeding of residents. * May be required to strip bedding and replace with clean linens per schedule or as needed. * May be required to assist in personal grooming of residents. * May be required to turn residents as needed when designated on care plan. * May be required to clean bedpans and empty catheter bags. * May be required to document and/or report information regarding residents as instructed. Job Requirements: * Must complete at least 12 hours of in-service education approved and required by the community, Department of Human Services, and Department of Inspections and Appeals. * Must complete Relias assignments on time. * Must successfully complete skills check-off with the RN annually. * Must demonstrate on an ongoing basis the ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with co-workers and other departments. * Must have basic computer skills. * If required to operate a motor vehicle for business purposes, must successfully complete the requirements contained in Company's Motor Vehicles policy. * Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. * Must be able to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary. * Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations. * Must be able to perform the essential position functions of the job with, or without reasonable accommodation. * Employee is required to use a transfer/gait belt or to obtain the assistance of another employee when attempting to assist residents when lifting or carrying objects in excess of 25 pounds.
