Position Overview

As the Fleet Services Manager, you will serve as the primary contact concerning the dedicated fleet and associated equipment responsible for planning, managing, coordinating, and managing the company's fleet needs, utilization, maintenance, repair, replacement, and compliance of fleet vehicles and associated assets. This role requires a strategic leader for optimizing fleet financials, enhancing fleet utilization, managing national fuel procurement, and supervising regional fleet managers.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensure all transportation assets are inventoried, registered, and brought into compliance with all City, State, and Federal regulations.

  • Provide feedback, direction, and guidance to management on fleet functional resources to maximize delivery efficiency and customer service while optimizing costs.

  • Evaluate and negotiate all fleet leases nationally with various suppliers and internal managers.

  • Control costs by optimizing fleet utilization through the development and maintenance of standards in collaboration with local General Managers.

  • Identify and recommend service areas based on facility location and cost to serve customers in various markets utilizing historical and forecasted data.

  • Collaborate with peers to analyze and model the cost impact of fleet delivery due to site relocation, new customer awards, and future expansions.

  • Coordinate the purchase and/or leasing of all equipment, balancing standardization with operational needs.

  • Track and record locations of inventoried assets to the fullest extent possible.

  • Establish and utilize processes for reporting and tracking performance across multiple organizations and operations.

  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and regulations.

  • Utilize current technologies to enhance routing efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Direct and oversee additional transportation programs such as fuel purchase programs, vehicle branding, and licensing.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, transportation management, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Proven experience and a minimum of 3 years of fleet management.

  • In-depth knowledge of fleet operations, including maintenance practices, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial and operational data to inform decision-making.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners.

  • Proficiency in fleet management software and other relevant technology platforms.

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, environmental sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
