Position Summary:

Professional and experienced sales professional to sell Penske's pre-owned commercial vehicles to large companies that own their fleet. Responsible for managing existing accounts by building strong relationships and providing exceptional customer service. Prospecting through cold calls, email marketing and other creative methods in order to grow the customer base. Self-motivated and driven to sell is a must in order to succeed in this position.

This position offers a base salary and commission plan.

There are many opportunities for growth inside the Remarketing Department and our company as a whole for those who excel.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive understanding of customer's fleet needs and buying practices

  • Establish broad and deep relationships with customer

  • Heavy emphasis on telemarketing calls and email marketing

  • Must use creative and innovative marketing ideas to find ways to reach new customers.

  • Work closely with Rental and Lease teams on cross-sell opportunities

  • Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

  • Some travel to visit existing customers, prospects, Penske locations and industry conferences

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma required, Associates or Bachelor degree preferred

  • 1-2 years of vehicle sales experience or 3 years overall sales experience

  • Requires sales ability, professionalism, analytical thinking and basic knowledge of truck specifications

  • Prior experience within the truck/automotive dealer industry preferred

  • Strong understanding of sales process, selling value and overcoming objections

  • Comfortable interacting with owners and senior level managers of customers and prospects

  • Good oral and written communication and customer service skills

  • Strong negotiation skills, ability to deal with multiple complex tasks and assignments, and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Proficient at Windows based programs to be effective using Salesforce.com, FleetNet, Rental Net and other systems and programs

  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.

Meeting regularly with key suppliers and transporters to make sure that they focus on the right areas, resolve problems to mitigate delays and communicate with Penske's sales organization on status of their new equipment. Major Responsibilities: * Work closely with suppliers and/or 3rd party transporters to ensure Penske has the most up-to-date and accurate information on the production and delivery of our new vehicles. * Analyze production and delivery schedules (Penske's need by dates vs. supplier's capabilities) to identify gaps and work with them to bring back into compliance * Provide responses and resolve issues timely. * Communicate Penske needs and expectations to suppliers and/or transporters as it relates to production and delivery * Daily dispatching and tracking of vehicles during the delivery process * Keep information in our system up to data and accurate * Act as a liaison between our field associates and our suppliers and/or transporters * Work with suppliers and/or transporters to mitigate delays or problems during the build and delivery of our equipment * Facilitate conference calls/meetings with suppliers and/or transporters as needed * Administer supporting processes as it relates to production and delivery * Other projects as assigned by manager and/or director Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree required (or equivalent work experience) * Ability to drive information from data * Ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels * Microsoft Excel experience required * Microsoft Access experience preferred * Must have desire to learn and develop your skillsets * Must have ability to work independently, in groups, and with Suppliers * Professionalism a must (communication, attendance, conduct, etc.) * Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job * Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
