HYBRID ROLE BASED OUT OF OUR NORCROSS OFFICE

Job Purpose:

Our Fleet Optimization Program Manager is responsible for assisting with the development of consistent processes and implementation of transportation strategy. This role will also optimize the delivery network and ensure the right size the fleet is being utilized.

Job Responsibilities:

● Assist in compliance of actual delivery activity to planned routes by compiling data and reporting to Regional Operations Directors, area and field transportation personnel

● Utilize data driven analysis including mode and frequency to identify opportunities to reduce transportation expense by matching overall delivery model and customer expectations.

● Manage the on board computer systems in our fleet operations to provide a high degree of reliable operating data, HOS compliance and associated reporting capability.

● Optimize the utilization of the Veritiv fleet and facilitate industry-leading delivery cost performance and customer service.

● Assist in Activity Based Payroll program administration, analyze associated metrics, make recommendations on payroll models

● Collaborate with the Routing Center, Regional Transportation Managers and Fleet Asset Manager to help drive efficiency in field operations.

● Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs, streamlines procedures, and implementing solutions

● Other duties as assigned

Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:

● Need to have an understanding of financial accounting and financial reporting concepts and principles, including Supply Chain operational expense buckets (variable/fixed warehouse, transportation, etc.).

● General knowledge of Roadnet Routing Software and XRS on board computer systems is preferred.

Work Experience:

● 1-3 years of related job experience.

● Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.

● Ability to work quickly and efficiently.

● A thorough understanding of distribution management (customer service, sales, purchasing, warehouse, credit, information systems, and logistics) that is preferably from a large, national, or decentralized organization.

● A through understanding of government regulations (DOT, OSHA, HazMat, etc.).

● Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required.

● Experienced in providing leadership to others regarding work related systems, processes, and challenges.

● Experience of interpreting strategy and policy in order to set and deliver objectives.

● Experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short/medium timescales within the overall policy framework.

● Must possess a thorough understanding of the distribution business.

● Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

● Strong customer service skills (friendly, courteous and helpful).

● Strong planning and organization skills are required.

Education:

● Bachelor's Degree Preferred
