The Fleet Operations Mission Planner (MP) is an engineer reporting to the Mission Planning Lead and is responsible for all aspects of spacecraft operations planning. A successful candidate is an engineer or technician with satellite subsystem and operations knowledge. The MP understands constraints to satellite and ground system operations, activity dependencies, systems limitations, and operational priorities. Tasks include analyzing and processing planning requests for feasibility, contact scheduling, and mission plan development and publishing. In addition, the Mission planner will process real-time change requests and modifications to the plan. The planner interfaces with other crew positions, resolves conflicts, and makes notifications per the Mission Planning process.


  • Development, deconfliction, and publishing of the constellation mission plan

  • Receive, process, screen and deploy spacecraft activity schedules

  • Deconflict plan requests based on operational priorities and constraints

  • Configure, operate, and troubleshoot planning system software applications

  • Respond to unscheduled outages, applications software issues/failures

  • Perform on-console mission planning activities in a rotating shift environment

Required Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate will have experience in:

  • Satellite and ground system operations

  • Activity prioritization and planning

  • Real-time schedule deconfliction

  • Spacecraft activity feasibility analysis

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership of all aspects of job and take initiative

  • Excellent oral and written skills and communication / briefing skills is essential.

  • A minimum of 2 years of aerospace industry or equivalent experience required with 5 years preferred.

  • Direct experience in resource or mission planning software application system configuration and operation, Launch and Early Obit Operations, sustaining Satellite Operations, and Flight Dynamics is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated ability to work to tight deadlines in high stress environments

  • Multi-satellite LEO constellation operations experience is a plus.

The Fleet Operations United States Operations Center (USSOC) Ground System Controller (GC) position is a shift-working position, reporting to the on-shift Mission Director. The successful candidate assists in the implementation, configuration, operation and support of the Fleet Management Segment (FMS), Earth Station Control Element (ECE). This is a rotating shift work position providing 24/7 operations support. When on-shift, The GC monitors the ground to satellite link hardware and software, responds to faults, failures, and performance issues to restore the system to nominal operation. This individual shall be familiar with satellite to ground systems, associated application software, infrastructure hardware and software. This position requires working closely with the FMS Ground System operations support staff in development and deployment of the satellite to ground link system applications throughout the system development through real-time operations. Duties: * Working a rotating shift to support 24/7 operations * Maintain satellite command and control ground system to ensure nominal operations and troubleshoot complex technical issues * Identifying, analyzing, and troubleshooting satellite operational data flow related issues in OneWeb Fleet Management Segment (FMS) ground system including firewalls, routers, switches, cloud computing infrastructure, FMS application software layer, remotely hosted hardware, and MPLS network * Maintain the network integrity and security of FMS infrastructure systems * Monitoring and measuring availability, latency, and overall system data flow health Required Skills and Experience: * Excited about the OneWeb challenge. * Experience with continuous monitoring tools, including Kibana and Nagios * Experience with network administration of Cisco and/or Arista platforms * Knowledge of LAN/WAN inter networking technologies and all OSI layers including the application layer * Experience with Satellite ground communication system including Radio Frequency (RF) antenna equipment, and wide-area communications networks * No visa sponsorship is available for this position Oneweb Mclean VA
