High Transit LLC is the specialty hauler for the affiliated companies of High Industries Inc. The company also provides specialty heavy hauling services to the construction and manufacturing industries. We are currently seeking an experienced Fleet Mechanic to join our team on 3rd shift at our Lancaster, PA facility.

The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, replacing, maintaining and repairing a variety of road, industrial, and construction equipment. This position will support our 3rd shift team, working Monday

  • Friday from 9:00 pm

  • 6:30 am.

Responsibilities of our fleet mechanics include:

  • Must perform local, state, and federal inspections on all types of equipment

  • May be required to perform road service

  • Ability to perform complete engine rebuild, brake reconditioning, suspension repairs, replacement of seals, alternators, starters, clutch, transmission and other general repairs for both tractors and trailers

  • Perform diagnostics and repairs to tractor electronics

  • Responsible for providing

Our ideal candidate will posses the following education and work requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience as a fleet maintenance mechanic, required

  • Must possess a valid CDL class A license

  • Must possess a valid Class 7 State Inspection and Emissions license

  • Tractor and trailer welding experience a plus

  • ASE Certifications and Refrigeration license a plus

  • The ability to work in both a team and independent environment, making decisions without the assistance of supervision

  • The ability to occasionally lead members of a team and distribute work assignments

The company also partners with other hauling companies to provide specialty services for customers in the civil construction, transportation & building construction, manufacturing, Marcellus Shale, and heavy equipment industries. We are currently hiring for a Fleet Maintenance Manager. General Description: Plan, organize, and direct the utility fleet operations, equipment, and personnel of High Transit LLC. Responsible for the total cost of ownership of the High Transit fleet. Maintain a good working relationship with High Industries Inc. and High Real Estate Group LLC. Qualifications: * Ten years of Fleet Maintenance operations experience * Management of class 8 vehicles, and other major industrial rolling stock equipment. * Advanced communications, interpersonal and organizational skills. * General knowledge of mechanical, electrical, structural, and operation function of all fleet equipment. * Degree in mechanical or industrial engineering; or business administration, preferred. * Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs and ERP platforms such as SAP. * Understands key reliability and uptime metrics, and can implement policies that make an impact upon High Transit's bottom line * MTBF - Mean Time Between Failure * MTTR - Mean Time to Replace/Repair * MTTF - Mean Time to Fail * Understands warranty administration practices. * Experience creating department expense budgets, and successfully managing expenses to stay within fixed budgets and/or budgets that are flexed on operational variables. Essential Job Functions: * Demonstrated effective supervision of mechanics resulting in efficient operations and engaged workforce. * Ability to analyze total cost of ownership for asset-based operation. * Maintain a preventive maintenance program that will minimize breakdowns, control costs and meet the equipment needs of High Transit LLC. * Direct the maintenance program in compliance with all company, local, state and federal regulations and laws. * Direct and manage the Fleet Maintenance teams in the Lancaster and Williamsport facilities. * Maintain a position and service-oriented relationship with all High Companies. * Conduct interviews and make recommendations on transfers and new hires into the Fleet Maintenance Department. * Conduct performance evaluations and arrange training for all reporting employees. * Monitor weekly safety meetings with the three shifts and attain a safe working environment. * Initiate and control the Fleet Maintenance operating budget for all High Transit LLC fleet maintenance facilities. * Evaluate maintenance records to recommend the feasibility of maintaining or replacing equipment. * Monitor the operations in the paint bay complying with all EPA and DER regulations. * Monitor the operations in the trailer bay addressing issues relating to new builds, rebuilds, and special builds of trailer and special equipment. * Monitor industry changes and new technology to assist in specifications for new equipment purchases such as cars, welders, air compressors, forklifts, trucks, tractors, trailers, travel lifts, cranes, etc. * Assist other High Companies in new equipment specifications. * Work directly with High Industries to establish car replacement and/or transfers. * Address insurance issues directly involving equipment damage for High Steel Structures, High Steel Service Center, High Industries, and High Construction or any other High Company as needed. * Address any request made by the Director Shipping and Fleet Maintenance.
