Fleet Mechanic I

The Fleet Mechanic I will perform scheduled preventative maintenance and necessary repairs to automobiles, trucks (light and heavy), trailers, vans and forklifts as directed by Fleet Manager.

Shift and Schedule

This is a full time permanent position working on 2nd shift. 2nd shift hours are from 10:00am - 6:30pm Monday through Friday. Must be open to overtime and weekends as the business needs.

Position Responsibilities

  • Meet the maintenance demands of the Sales and Supply Chain functions and perform quality work at the lowest cost to minimize equipment downtime.

  • Maintain, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on all fleet equipment.

  • Knowledgeable in the following areas:

  • Preventative Maintenance

  • Electrical

  • Suspension

  • Brakes

  • Drive train

  • Cab and bod

  • Operate in a safe, well organized, and clean work environment (must be able to tolerate hot and cold temperatures depending on the season).

  • Input data accurately and in a timely manner in to the DPS fleet maintenance software program (SAP EAM).

  • Order and inventory parts.

  • Adhere to OSHA, DOT and EPA regulatory compliance standards.

  • The training and experience that comes from the following certifications will be utilized as part of the position responsibilities and will be required to achieve within the first year of employment with Dr Pepper Snapple Group:

  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification for maintenance and inspection program

  • DOT Commercial Driver's License (CDL A)

  • DOT brake and annual inspection certification

  • Forklift Operator License

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)

  • Valid driver's license

  • Lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds repeatedly

  • 2 years of technical training or 1 year of fleet experience

  • Able to supply own set of tools

  • Willing and able to acquire the necessary certifications and licenses needed for the position within the first year of employment to include: ASE certification, DOT Commercial Driver's License (CDL A), DOT brake and annual inspection certification, and Forklift Operator License

This includes preventative maintenance, line maintenance, scheduled inspections, and accompanying maintenance up to and including 'A-Checks' and large component replacements in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulation and company policies and procedures. Air Wisconsin Airlines is recognized as operating a safe maintenance program. Mechanics and Technicians troubleshoot and diagnose complex aircraft systems, which may include repairing and maintaining components used for aircraft navigation and radio communications, weather radar systems, and other instruments and computers. In addition to aircraft systems, Mechanics and Technicians install, inspect, test, replace, dismantle, alter fabricate, repair, and reassemble aircraft components and engines. A variety of tools and equipment are used, including precision measuring devices, pneumatic devices, electrical testing devices, general shop equipment, ground support equipment, and computers.
