General Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Fleet Maintenance Coordinator is arranging all trailer repairs, maintenance, recoveries, assignments, and PO's for repairs. Communication includes email, phone calls and face to face to be successful at this position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Schedule annual DOT trailer inspections

  • Handle "off pro" trailer breakdowns

  • Schedule trailer maintenance

  • Issue trailer assignments to new contractors

  • Issue PO's for trailer repairs

  • Document trailer repairs and issues

  • Register, title, and plate trailers

  • Track trailers

  • Assign trailers to be recovered

  • Computer skills

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Education, Experience, Certification, Licenses, Registration:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of 2 years industry experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of tractor trailer maintenance practices

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Mechanical knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Work in team environment

  • Perform trailer visual inspections on Medina lot

Position: Diesel Fleet Mechanic Technician EEO Category: Technical Reports to: Garage Manager Full/Part Time: Full Time Location: Medina, OH Shift: 1st POSITION SUMMARY: This position requires the level of knowledge and skills necessary to diagnose and repair commercial vehicles and equipment. This individual must have the ability to effectively work and communicate with employees and customers. Requirements include daily safety inspections, minimal reworks, and maintaining production standards. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Routine and preventative maintenance. Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs Repair malfunction to all vehicle systems, overhaul, tune and repair engines. Repair and maintain hydraulic systems. Corrects vehicle deficiencies and completes machine shop operations; making adjustments and alignments including bearing loads, gear tooth contact, valve mechanisms, governors, oil systems, control linkages, clutches, and traction units. Verifies vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems. Complies with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards. Maintains vehicle records by annotating services and repairs. Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs. Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt. Follow all SFC Core Values and be a team player Other duties as assigned SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to detect technical malfunctions in the machines. Sound understanding of using all repair tools, equipment and testing machinery Ability to lift or move various products and or items ranging in weight from 25 to 150 pounds Able to work in a cold/wet environment Good communications skills High school diploma or GED required Three or more years of related maintenance and repair.
