JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

Provide direct staff support to the nuclear Fleet Operations Corporate Functional Area Manager (CFAM) for the governance, oversight and support of fleet nuclear sites as detailed in fleet administrative procedure EN-FAP-OM-011, Corporate Oversight Model.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensuring fleet standardization in areas such as similar equipment and functional area practices by establishing fleet standard programs and processes that can be easily implemented by properly trained and qualified personnel and assuring key processes and procedures are maintained

Keeping abreast of industry best performance and obtaining useful information for the Functional Area Peer Group by participation in industry CFAM organizations, INPO groups, Entergy INPO Loanee counterpart and other industry groups (e.g., EPRI, NEI)

Developing and maintaining an oversight plan consisting of plant oversight, assessments, industry interface, and assistance provided and updating the functional area action plan based on analysis and fleet significance to include gaps to industry excellence, required actions, and PCRS tracking

Performing Site Performance Review Visits (SPRV), including behavioral observations and corporate touchpoint oversight activities as applicable to gain first-hand knowledge of site performance and issues

Participating in performance improvement deep-dives, Corporate Event Response Teams, leadership assessments and mid-cycle assessments as required

Providing support for CFAM preparation for Oversight Analysis Meetings (OAM) and Oversight Review Boards (ORB) and developing and submitting a trimester area summary report

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum education required of the position

B.S. Degree in Engineering or related technical degree may be credited for up to 4 years of experience, or equivalent work experience

Minimum experience required of the position
6 years commercial or military nuclear experience.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

Technical proficiency in the assigned area. Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operation.

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position

SRO license or certification on BWR or PWR (desired).

Fleet program oversight of Rigging and Lifting experience (desired)

Foreign Material Exclusion and other Maintenance related programs (desired)

Experience at the Superintendent level (desired)

This includes Planning of online, outage work packages and plant modification work packages. Drive fleet standardization and optimization among site Planning Supervisors and Supervisors of site planners. Define standard policies, programs, software and processes associated with planning. Ensure governance of Fleet Planning processes, practices, software and procedures are enforced, in the area of interest to fleet standardized sharing of best practices. Oversee the Planning procedures and documentation which govern and control fleet, plant, and departmental activities. Ensure conformance to procedures. Review fleet work assignments to ensure site staffs are responding to fleet and organizational needs. Oversee the Planning personnel training requirements and implement the non-accredited planner training program. Represent the fleet at meetings with industry, regulators, INPO, etc. to discuss and resolve matters effecting Planning procedures and processes. Initiate and execute frequent exchanges with other departments, as necessary, to resolve areas of conflict, promote a supportive team approach, and address issues where obstacles are hampering common performance. Maintain frequent contact with senior level management regarding key functional issues at the sites. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Minimum education required of the position BS Degree in Engineering or other scientific discipline generally associated with power plant operations or Equivalent Experience. (Equivalent Experience is defined as 5 years of experience in a responsible managerial position in an operating nuclear power plant environment. A degree is very strongly preferred.) Minimum experience required of the position 10 years experience in nuclear power design, construction, maintenance, operations, radiation protection, chemistry, production, or equivalent. Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position Desired Qualifications: ERPI Planner Certification Experience with Asset Suite and Maximo Outstanding verbal and written communication, conflict management, and change management skills.
