The City of Sugar Land is seeking a full time Fleet Inventory Data Analyst in the Fleet Services Department

  • Work Order Processing: Enters Data into Fleet Management Software, adds parts inventory, verifies unit number and creates a line-item entry for each task completed, record and compile data in an Excel spreadsheet.

  • Registration/Inspection Notifications: Notifies departments when vehicles need to be brought in for state inspection, tracks vehicle inspections that were completed, and follows up to notify user department when inspection sticker arrives.

  • Travel to Tax Office/DPS to retrieve inspection stickers and file paperwork related to new vehicles.

  • Vehicle Recalls: Matches all recalls to unit numbers utilizing VIN number. Notifies user department of recall and works with Fleet Supervisor to schedule repairs.

  • Toll Road Violations: Research toll violations and provides information to user department/and or Accounting for timely processing.

  • Vehicle Data/Inventory Research: Provides Auto Technicians with vehicle history information, parts utilized during repairs and follows up with any relevant information requested by user departments.

  • Vehicle Transport: Transport vehicles to dealership for warranties/repairs/bodywork/ paint/tint or any related services.

Formal Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate required.

Relatable Work Experience:

  • One to two years of progressively responsible experience in automotive parts or inventory, record management related to Preventative maintenance and State Inspection Data Management required.

  • Municipal or government experience preferred.

  • Fleet Management and/or GPS Telematics experience preferred.

  • Ability to collect and interpret data to create dashboards for city wide reporting.

Training (License and/or Certification):

  • Valid Texas Driver License
