SCOPE

Deliver high quality Fleet solutions supporting multi- unit locations throughout the USA

The Fleet Director will be responsible for leading, facilitating, planning the day to day operations of multi-unit fleet services company wide. This includes defining and leading the company's fleet strategy, fleet maintenance programs, fleet design enhancements, effective on road fuel programs, healthy supply chains, anticipating the organizations fleet needs and including appropriate key stakeholders in the management of the fleet program. The successful candidate will have responsibility for all fleet related activities, lead a team that provides outstanding customer service and develop the fleet organization to deliver ever-improving fleet solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties:

  • Build and maintain the strategic plan and associated deliverables for the Fleet function, vendor strategy, maintenance programs, negotiating with key suppliers and fuel management

  • Lead best practices identification with an emphasis on continuous improvement

  • Ensures solid linkages exist between internal functions and partners, including the Logistics group, Sales, Operations, Legal and Finance

  • Accountable for the Fleet procurement process in accordance with our growing requirements

  • Manage vendor relationships and performance over a range of key performance indicators, such as on time delivery performance, maintenance performance and cost.

  • Maintain all Fleet regulatory requirements, industry trends and best practices, technology solutions and customer requirements, proactively managing risks and opportunities in each.

  • Lead risk mitigation strategy for the department that minimize the impact of potential concentration risk across the supply chain

  • Lead the development of the annual Fleet budget process, monthly budget variance analysis cost reconciliations, partnering with our finance team

  • Management of multiple cost savings projects - scope definition, planning, documentation / vetting, timeline execution, and leadership of cross functional teams

  • Work closely with the Business Unit Fleet Manager's to oversee the operations, staffing and performance of the department.

  • Actively participate in the delivery of these services as and when required.

  • Represent Fleet Management in monthly location Management meetings client interactions if/when needed.

  • Play an active role in monitoring customer satisfaction and recommending action/s to correct problems if/when needed.

  • Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements and policies.

  • Maintain a safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition.

Core Competencies

  • Strong supply chain and logistics knowledge and familiarity with general warehousing, and distribution operation

  • Ability to influence members of cross functional teams

  • Self-motivated and results oriented

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree MBA or advanced degree is a plus

  • 8 to 10 years' experience in a progressive operations leadership role

  • Strong Analytical Skills

  • Demonstrated understanding of end-to-end supply chain strategy is fundamental to this challenging role.

  • Experience in industry trends and best practices for emerging Fleet solutions. Must have experience in procuring (purchasing) fleet and on road fuel across the United States

In the Fleet Resource role, we are seeking a strong leader to develop, implement and monitor the fleet processes and strategies that support Sales and Operations and maximize Fleet performance. This role is responsible for day to day fleet activity of over 1200 assets, shop maintenance, technician engagement, and all related facets of Fleet Operations (i.e. asset planning, fuel conservation, vendor management, safety, productivity, environmental management, financial performance, and Sarbanes Oxley controls). Key accountabilities include managing preventative maintenance programs, training initiatives, national compliance and regional/national initiatives that impact the performance of the business in areas of cost, quality and reliability. In addition, the Fleet Resource will recruit and develop fleet technicians throughout the Market, manage outside vendors across the Market and coach / influence the Sales Associates that drive these vehicles. * Lead the Fleet Team to deliver the cost, quality, service, and reliability results set out in the annual Fleet Capability plan. * Build a specific strategic plan to drive Fleet performance. * Coordinate and schedule maintenance and repairs to ensure reliability of the fleet. * Develop and manage a comprehensive asset utilization plan. * Develop and execute an annual fleet financial plan. * Execute a fuel conservation plan to reduce fuel usage and improve overall MPG * Manage all regulatory compliance (DOT, EPA, FDA) * Develop technical and non-technical capability of the Market Fleet Team * Effectively negotiate with internal and external customers Qualifications/Requirements Strong management, leadership, analytical, quantitative, communication, follow-up and technical skills are required.
