The Flagship Store Director is responsible for being the leader of the stores overall operation and success. This is accomplished by strategically driving results to ensure that the store achieves maximum sales and productivity goals through exceptional Guest Experience, Talent Management, Visual Presentation Excellence, Operational Excellence and Personal Development. The role reports directly to the Retail Ops Global Sr. Manager.
Key responsibilities include responsibility for the Mall of America M&MS World retail operations in Bloomington, MN.
DRIVE RESULTS / GUEST SERVICE- ACHIEVE OUR GOALS BY BRINGING MORE CHOCOLATE SMILES TO OUR GUESTS
Through the training and development of associates ensure that store meets and often exceeds quantifiable performance (e.g. Net Sales, Conversion, Average Dollar Sale, Units Per Transaction, and store profitability)
Develop and execute the retail strategy to achieve sales growth through business analysis, action planning, effective communication and consistent accountability
Utilize sales data to recommend changes affecting the flow and type of merchandise required to achieve designated sales goals of the store in partnership with central support team
Model and manage effective supervision to drive sales by consistently delivering exceptional Guest Service
Role models the behaviors of an effective Manager on Duty and holds management team accountable to floor leadership at all times
TALENT MANAGEMENT- DELIVER AN EXCEPTIONAL RETAIL EXPERIENCE BY DELIGHTING OUR GUEST THROUGH OUR FUN, KNOWLEDGE, AND PASSION FOR OUR BRAND
Drive future growth of M&MS Retail through effective recruitment, selection and on boarding of all associates
Ensure store achieves optimal staffing levels by filling positions in a timely manner for job openings with associates that reflect the M&MS #1 brand standard
Identify, develop and leverage existing talent to support the growth of the store through the talent management process and succession planning through great line management
Reward and recognize behaviors / results that are in alignment with MARS purpose and values to promote a high-performing team
Drive the companys performance management process throughout the store and is a liaison with P&O on associate relations issues to ensure practices are fair and consistent
Drive consensus while managing a diverse management team and/or collaborating with associates in other sites
Provide an open door policy where associates are free to express their ideas, concerns and feelings and an environment where The Five principles of MARS are modeled and upheld
Conduct round tables and associate engagement impact sessions. Create, execute and follow up impact planning
PRESENTATION EXCELLENCE- CREATE A VISUALLY EXCITING MERCHANDISE PRESENTATION
Demonstrates knowledge of products, placement on the sales floor, sales impact according to the space occupied and general understanding of category components
Embrace and create company driven promotional and marketing campaigns that support the brand through training and development provide an exceptionally visually appealing store that is Big, Bold and clearly Branded in partnership with the central support team
Ensure thorough training / execution and instill behaviors to achieve a store that is neat, clean and organized at all times
OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE- ENSURING OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCIES WHILE DELIVERING AN EXCITING RETAIL EXPERIENCE
Develop team to execute company programs and processes by prioritizing, simplifying and following up to achieve desired results
Through training and development ensures all areas of the store including the backroom, sales floor, cash wrap areas are neat clean, organized, operational and safe
Comply with and ensure that all associates follow company policies and procedures
Ensure that store is in compliance with all employment laws
Ensure that the store protects company assets through awareness of Loss Prevention best practices
Ensure that the store maintains best in class quality and food safety though executing best practices while self-auditing and ensuring continuous improvement

Bachelors Degree, Advanced degree preferred
5 years experience managing in a fast paced retail or hospitality operation
3 years experience leading a team of managers
Demonstrated complex planning & organizational skills with strong business acumen
Demonstrated communication and advanced presentation skills a proven track record of influencing senior management
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
Track record of driving financial performance through direct P&L responsibility
