Description

Responsible for initiating complex trades, while minimizing the Company's financial exposure. Ensures trading procedures are properly executed and that compliance policies are followed. Execute client buy and sell orders while adhering to best execution standards, internal policies, and regulatory obligations. Able to provide trading related guidance to enhance representative's portfolio strategies. Draws from knowledge on specific markets to develop trading strategies that respond to trends in the current market. Perform market research, analyze market conditions and work with field representatives to characterize current conditions in fixed income markets. Incumbent responds to inquiries on market and economic conditions as well as investable instruments and strategies. Additionally, incumbent responds to complex questions from management, clients, sales representatives, and firm personnel regarding trades, securities and administrative procedures. Assists with audit reviews and completes complex projects as assigned. Oversees the processing of daily functions and completes departmental reports. Holds FINRA Principal licenses as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute client buy and sell orders while adhering to best execution standards, internal policies, and regulatory obligations

  • Provide focused service to field representatives

  • Draws from knowledge on specific markets to develop trading strategies that respond to trends in the current market.

  • Perform market research, analyze market conditions and work with field representatives to characterize current conditions in fixed income markets

  • Locate and analyze investable instruments, primarily fixed income

  • Provide price quotes and service to field representatives on trading related inquiries

  • General awareness and ability to use and follow the trading systems, processes and regulatory controls

  • Assists with audit reviews and completes complex projects as assigned

  • Oversees the processing of daily functions and completes departmental reports

  • Performs other duties as required or assigned

Position Requirements

  • B.A./B.S. degree required

  • MBA/Progress toward MBA desired

  • CFA/Progress toward CFA designation desired

  • Fixed Income Trading Experience including municipal bonds, corporate bonds, treasuries, agencies, CDs

  • Strong math skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to multitask

  • Series 7 & 63
