Position Description Working with asset management and third-party property managers, the fixed asset manager has oversight of hotel fixed asset accounting and management reporting for a portfolio of over 300 hotels. The position will advise asset management and senior accounting management on identified issues and assist in their resolution. Accordingly, the position will have minimal involvement in transaction accounting and processing but instead will focus in a manager role on the proper application of fixed asset GAAP and third-party managers compliance of approved projects. The position will report to the VP of corporate accounting. Responsibilities ? For Property Improvement Plans, review budgets and actual expenditures for compliance with Company authorized projects. ? Review property rollforwards for accounting compliance and reasonableness. ? Review expenditures and budget changes over defined scopes for proper approvals and reforecasts. ? Develop monthly/quarterly reports and other communications to asset management that summarize activity, issues and resolutions. ? Manage lender capital reserve escrows, including reviewing escrow reports, coordinating accounting entries for activity, and working with the lender to release escrows based on loan provisions. ? Reviewing capital expenditures for property allocations between property owning entities and taxable subsidiaries. ? Calculate GAAP capitalized interest. ? Review depreciation rollforwards for reasonableness. ? Coordination and documentation for external auditors. ? Working with SOX on controls and other support. Qualifications ? 4+ years of public accounting with a national firm or 7 years of real estate industry or comparable fixed asset experience. ? CPA a plus. ? Hotel, real estate and/or REIT experience a plus. ? Detailed, goal-oriented self-starter, who can work independently. ? Good workpaper and documentation skills. ? Good communication skills, who can work with different functional group (asset management, third party management, accounting). ? Proficient excel, word and powerpoint skills (advanced levels are a plus). ? Flexibility to work in a small sized accounting department. Requirements

  • Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is valuable

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Solid technical skills

  • Real estate project accounting experience desired

  • Exceptional communication skills that provide the ability to interact with all levels of the organization with a high customer service orientation

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience

  • Recent relevant financial experience

  • Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

Current Need Accounting Associate/EDI Specialist Position Description Responsible for the expedient and accurate posting of payments received This is a High-Level payment Poster. High Level means the representative needs little to no supervision and can guide other payment posters. This individual has the knowledge and/or experience to perform the key responsibilities outlined below. The Payment Poster/EDI Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing and posting of all incoming payments, recoupments and rejection of payments from insurance companies, patients, and third-party payers to customer accounts. This position verifies and researches account information, adjusting as necessary to ensure proper filing of supplemental/tertiary claims to insurance or other third parties. The staff in this position work closely with the AR Billing and Collections Department to assure proper manual and electronic posting of payments and rejections for cash balancing Key Responsibilities: * Completes payment entry in a timely and accurate manner * Post payments, denials and recoupments to pharmacy management system. (live checks within 24 hours, Online Credit Card payments the next business day, EFT deposits within 48 hours) * Balances batches and run transaction reports daily * Process and accept EDI electronic remittance files * Run EDI check total and remittance error reports * Manually post EDI remittance error reports; close and process batches. * Use the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) Bank Deposit spreadsheet to balance electronic and manual posting for those payers from whom we receive EFT. * Verifies all EFT deposits and lockbox checks have been posted by month end * Post approved personal and insurance refunds. Work closely with AR Billing and Collections Team regarding refund issues * Review and reconcile all unapplied cash by month end Additional Responsibilities: * Resolve posting errors transferred from the billing and collections team or brought to your attention by your supervisor or team leader * Make account comments to clarify actions taken to reconcile outstanding posting issues * Communicate with EDI payers regarding checks that have not been received but are listed in the remittance file. * Properly communicate and document payment denials in the pharmacy management system and forward to the appropriate Billing and Collection representative in a timely manner * Identify any under or over payments, disallowed/non-contracted amount and communicate this to the appropriate Billing and Collections representative and/or Supervisor * Recognize and report errors by contracted and non-contracted insurance carriers by posting the correct remit code to facilitate account work queue follow up by the appropriate Billing and Collections representative * Recognize incorrect registration when posting payments/rejections and take appropriate action to notify the appropriate benefits/ registration representative * Maintain current knowledge of all third-party reimbursement requirements. Keep supervisor and staff informed regarding changes for all third- party billing in a timely manner, including but not limited to payer change notices that may be received with payment details.
