Our client, a Global Pharmaceutical & Medical Device firm, is currently seeking a
Fixed Assets Accountant for a 12 month contract opportunity with potential to become fulltime. The position is located in Austin, Texas.

Your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
Place new assets into service
Prepare monthly depreciation, addition, disposal, impairment and transfer journal entries
Record journal entries for purchase price amortization, intangibles and goodwill
Account for gain/loss on disposal of assets
Track invoices associated with each asset placed into service
Validate amounts capitalized or expensed as repairs and maintenance for consistent treatment of assets under corporate policy
Monitor Construction in Progress (CIP) projects for completion and ensure accurate and timely in-service placement
Maintain CIP account detail and monitor aging of CIP balances
Review progress of actual CIP against capital budget to identify potential overruns and identify project completion
Monitor and ensure appropriate sales/use tax applied to all fixed asset invoices
Monthly closing of Fixed Asset Module
Prepare monthly account reconciliations and fixed asset roll forward
Assist the Tax Group with preparation of fixed asset tax books, including communication of all activity within the fixed asset module
Assist with annual fixed asset impairment testing as needed
Ad hoc analysis and project preparation as needed
You are required to have a Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance coupled with proven Fixed Asset Accounting experience. Having experience working in ORACLE Fixed Assets or a similar ERP is preferred but not required. You will have strong analytical skills, be organized, be a problem solver, work independently and be proficient with MS Office. You must have the ability to manage & track your own projects.
