Job Summary

Brown & Brown Inc. is looking for a Fixed Asset Accountant. This individual will be a critical member of the Corporate Accounting Department team, where we partner with our business leaders to provide critical analysis and insight that helps to shape the business. The successful candidate will own a variety of accounting activities relating to both the financial operations of the Corporate Office and the analysis of information provided by Brown & Brown's profit centers.

Essential Duties and Functions: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintain fixed assets in financial accounting system

  • Book depreciation for company assets

  • Maintain fixed assets for tax purposes

  • Build and maintain models/schedules and analyze the results

  • Assist in the preparation of supporting schedules for internal and external use

  • Conduct necessary account analysis and research

  • Prepare recurring and non-recurring general ledger journal and fixed asset entries

  • Perform special projects as requested

  • Interact with business leaders and partners

Required Skills


  • Four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Proficient with MS Excel

  • Desire to be a significant contributor to a successful team

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

  • 1 - 3 years' experience
