The core purpose of the Fitter is to operate machines to product parts or tools by turning, boring, milling, planning, shaping, slotting, grinding or drilling metal stock or components.
Fit and assemble metal parts, tools or sub-assemblies, including welding or brazing parts.
Cut, thread, bend and install hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
repair equipment and machinery as needed on site.
Mechanics will be responsible for keeping an inventory of equipment and creating a log of repairs.
This position is in Indianapolis, IN and potentially will work from future job sites throughout the Unites States with the home office based out of Memphis, TN and report directly through Field Ops Crew Leader Specific Responsibilities Lay out, align and assemble fabricated metal products used in electrical poles, substations, and other structures Perform repetitive types of assembling operations according to procedures established by others and use hand tools and measuring devices in the performance of work Assemble structural units requiring little to no fitting Use hand tools and measuring devices in the performance of work Work under conditions with accurate performance and completion of work within set time limits Assume accountability and responsibility for essential tools and equipment provided along with the maintenance of these tools and equipment Minimum experience or requirements:
Minimum High School diploma or G.E.D.
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a construction, industrial, or manufacturing environment Proficient at layout and fitting Ability to read blueprints Requires the ability to work with a tape measure and determine center point Able to perform basic math calculations using fractions Able to work effectively in a hot or cold environment while wearing the required PPE Ability to communicate clearly and concisely Construction knowledge; high energy level; professionalism Critical Qualities A commitment to grow and mature in the mission, vision, and core values of the Company Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner always (dress, language, punctuality, etc.) Composure under pressure; flexibility Protect the organizations value by keeping information confidential
