Working together across all job functions is critical to achieving our success.About the JobThe Welder is responsible for performing quality welds while meeting all quality and safety standards. Under ongoing supervision, welds, cleans cuts and grinds. Assists in the departmental housekeeping and safety efforts and works collaboratively with other members of the department and production counterparts to ensure production workflowEssential Functions & Major Responsibilities * Experienced Welder with possible skills in Subarc (SAW), with experience in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SWAW) and Flux Core (FCAW) preferred. * Fitting experience preferred. * Must be able to kneel, squat, crawl, or stand for extended periods of time inside a pipe. * Able to work at heights. * Skilled in fitting-up steel pieces for welding fixtures and jigs. Ensures proper alignment and dimensional specifications of every fit. * Weld or tack parts into various sub-assemblies or complete assemblies. * Experience using an Overhead Crane to move product from one location to another. * Knowledgeable of welding technology, equipment types, applications, and material characteristics. * Must be able to read a tape measure and properly apply to pipe sizes. * Must be able to use hand grinders and other misc. hand tools. * Team Player with Leadership skills and abilities. * Identify and report any unsafe working conditions or equipment. * Follows all OSHA safety requirements, work rules and instructions, ISO procedures, job safety analysis (JSAs) and company policies and promotes a safe culture. * Performs other duties as assigned by the lead or supervisor. * Complete and maintain all required paperwork. * May provide support to the fabrication department. * Participates in all inventories, safety meetings and ISO audits. * Maintain housekeeping within all production, storage and waste areas. * Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance is necessary in order to perform the essential functions of this positionKnowledge, Skills & Abilities * Ability to pass a FCAW - 2G and/or 3G weld test. * Ability to pass a SMAW - 2G, 3G and/or 7018 weld test. * Must be able to maintain a welding certification. * Must be able to operate a welding machine and grinder safely.Education/Experience * One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination and experience. * On the job training by other fitters who have experience, knowledge, and insight into the job.
