Title: Health Fitness Specialist
Status: Non-Exempt, Part-Time
Rate of Pay: $23 per hour
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:30AM - 12:30PM

Sedgebrook Senior Living is recruiting for a Health Fitness Specialist to use their educational experience and training combined with independent judgment to ensure quality in all areas of the Fitness Center, including, but not limited to, exercise program design, fitness testing, group exercise on land and in the water, and other Fitness Center and/or departmental initiatives.
Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Health Fitness Specialist:
Teaches group exercise classes both on land and in water; provides a range of acceptable activities to meet various fitness levels of class participants; adheres to appropriate safety guidelines while keeping classes inviting, challenging, and well-attended.
Exercise Prescriptions: Evaluates and combines member goals, health history, fitness test data, physician recommendations, ACSM guidelines, and other relevant information to create effective exercise programs; research unknown conditions, goals, or other relevant information as needed.
Creates educational and program-specific print materials that are relevant to older adults and that convey safe and accurate health information; writes clearly and informatively, varies writing style to meet audience needs.
Supervises fitness center and uses educational background and other relevant training to accurately and safely answer member questions related to health, fitness, and wellbeing.
Conducts orientations according to the facility layout, membership policies/procedures, and Quality Assurance guidelines.
Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:
Bachelor's degree in a health-related field or industry-related certifications (CPT, CCS, etc.) preferred
Has knowledge to safely and accurately prescribe exercise for older adults using ACSM guidelines
Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification required
Many roles in the community may require that we ask about your vaccination status. This could include MMR, chicken pox, hepatitis, flu and COVID-19 vaccine status.
