Description :

The Fitness Manager (FM) ensures that the club delivers a high quality fitness experience to all members.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for communicating and upholding company standards and leading by example for delivering the 24 Hour Fitness Service Promise; manage a clean, friendly and well maintained club

  • Ensure that team members consistently execute the basics in punctuality, dress code compliance, friendliness and cleanliness

  • Hires, trains and develops a strong team of Personal Trainers

  • Responsible for the successful attainment of department targets, including revenue and member retention

  • Point of reference for fitness expertise within the Club

  • Conduct weekly (or as-needed) meetings with direct reports to review performance and offer direction, motivation and guidance toward achieving individual and company goals

  • Manage the Personal Trainer schedule

  • Mediates club employee relations matters for all club fitness employees

  • Ensure that all club members have access to a highly trained and professional fitness staff able to provide fitness counseling, training and programs within 24 Hour Fitness standards

  • Ensure that all Personal Trainers are delivering high quality programs to their clients

  • Ensure accurate administration of Personal Training including client files, measurement tracking, and workout programs

  • Regularly train staff on industry updates and coaches personal trainers to be continually successful to ensure that all clients are trained professionally

  • Direct selling, including achievement of personal monthly sales quotas

  • Conduct personal training sessions as necessary

Qualifications :

  • 1-2 years as a Personal Trainer preferred

  • Prior management experience in retail/hospitality industry leading 3-10 employees (preferred)

  • Consultative sales experience (preferred)

  • Knowledge of Personal Training technique and program design

  • Must be able to adjust and operate all club equipment

  • Experience in coaching/motivating groups

  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills

  • Possesses a strong member service focus.

Certifications / Educational Requirements :

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • At least one approved National Personal Training Certification (listed below):

  • ACSM, ACE, Cooper Institute for Aerobics Research, C.H.E.K, IFPA, NASM, NCSF, NESTA, NETA, NFPT, NSCA, PTA Global, W.I.T.S

  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to work in club office; move about club floors and rooms; review, revise, create club paperwork; communicate with employees, members, and the public.

  • Regularly required to demonstrate or explain proper physical fitness activities, techniques and procedures. Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment :

  • While performing the duties of this job, regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts

  • The noise level in the environment is occasionally loud

  • Extended workdays are a frequent occurrence, as are weekends and holidays as needed to support the business

Travel :

  • Must be able to travel by car and airplane up to 10% of the time

DESCRIPTION: As a brand ambassador, the Service Expert Night (SEN) represents 24 Hour Fitness to member and guests by delivering a positive experience leading to member acquisition and retention. Responsible for: + Enthusiastically helping create a club climate that supports our mission statement: _To Improve Lives Through Fitness._ + Executing the 24 Hour Fitness Service Promise; contributing to running a _Clean, Friendly and Well Maintained_ club. + Upholding 24 Hour Fitness' core values of ACHIEVE: _Accountability, Connected, High Expectations, Integrity, Energize, Versatility,_ and _Enjoy What You Do_ ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Member Check in / Customer Service + Ensure members and guests receive a friendly greeting/check-in and prompt attention to their needs + Answer all incoming inquiries and obtain appropriate information to direct/transfer calls or take messages + Effectively use 24 Hour Fitness tools and processes to engage with guests and explain membership benefits to convert guests into members + Offer to sign-up newly enrolled members for personal training and/or schedule a Fitness Appointment + Handle member service issues to include: Personal Training, Guest passes, Lost and Found items, Cardless Check-in, EasyPay, change of address, EFT setup or change, and questions regarding payments, etc. + Record member concerns on the Member Action Request Log and/or Service Planner + Record lost and found items on the Lost and Found Property Log and secure items per policy Club Cleanliness and Safety + Keep front desk area and lobby clean, clutter free, and orderly/organized + Clean and organize lobby, and weight and cardio rooms + Perform safety checks during the shift to ensure club is secured and safe + Close men's and/or women's locker rooms to provide access for janitorial team to complete deep cleaning + Re-rack all equipment and weights + Record equipment, facility, and janitorial issues in Accruent. + Other cleaning duties as assigned Administrative + Read and be familiar with all club communication as directed by your direct manager in the Service Planner + Ensure required forms are available, and completed and processed properly (e.g., Group X Reservation sheets, etc.) + Inventory Front Desk supplies including first aid kits, and report to Assistant General Manager or Service Expert Supervisor when supplies are low + Fill out Service Planner and other duties associated with Planner. + Complete all trainings as assigned. + Other duties as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge, Skills & Abilities + Strong customer service skills. + Strong communication skills both oral and written. + Organization skills. + Attention to detail. Minimum Educational Level/Certifications + High School diploma or General Educational Development (G.E.D.). + Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification from approved organization is required (within 60 days of employment). + Must complete Service Expert Night training (includes Club Orientation and Club Safety) prior to working alone at the front desk.
