The Anschutz Health & Wellness Center has an opening for a full-time, University Staff (unclassified) Fitness Center Sales Lead (Sales Assistant III) position.

Job Summary:

This position supervises the Center sales team which informs and sells: Fitness Center memberships, weight loss programs, nutrition sessions and body composition services to interesting parties in these services, matching the customer needs with the correct services. This position will also be an active part of the day to day sales of services with the sales staff. This position ensures that sales staff are available during the Center's prime business hours of 8am-6pm M-Sun.

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Recruit, evaluate, schedule, address personnel items for sales staff.

  • Standardize procedures and train sales staff on procedures (e.g. touring the facility; setup of members, sales in the Point of Sale system, required forms, prospect tracking).

  • Works with marketing/communications on presentation material needed for new employee orientations or other presentations.

  • Works with marketing/communications and General Manager on promotions and service packages to attract sales leads for services in the Center.

  • Assists General Manager with budget development.

  • With the General Manager sets incentive pay goals for sales team, tracks incentives and provides to General Manager for approval of payout.

  • Provides required reporting of sales, cancellations and other needed information as directed by the General Manager.

  • Coordinates sales team in responding to inquiries via social media, phone, walk-in, and the Center website.

  • Facilitates the hand off of leads to appropriate service lines (fitness, programs, clinic, etc.).

  • Represents the center in its entirety, to provide optimal service and options specific to the inquiry

  • Manages the sales team project management boards currently in Trello.

  • Perform administrative duties as assigned.

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will be responsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and any relocation expenses, if applicable

Salary and Benefits:

The starting salary for this position has been established at $31,716 and is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is eligible for overtime compensation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Three years previous sales experience in a high volume environment with successful record in achieving results.

  • Experience with Point of Sale systems.

Substitution: Appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis, but not the work lead experience.

Condition of Employment: Must be willing and able to

  • Give tours of the Fitness and wellness center.

  • Walk and stand for an extended period of time.

  • Climb stairs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a business, fitness or other related field.

  • One year prior supervisory or team lead experience.

  • Previous customer service experience in a Fitness Center in Higher Education.

  • Experience with CSI Spectrum Point of Sale software.

Competencies/Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to lead a highly productive sales team that can successfully convert leads into sales and at the same time providing clientele with services that match their needs.

  • Ability to keep current with industry trends in sales and packaging techniques to attract members using creative avenues.

  • Customer service focused.

  • Enthusiasm for sales in a health and wellness center with good knowledge of the industry.

  • Ability to follow and comply with University and Center policies and procedures.

  • Effective communicator with clientele and staff both verbal and written.
