The Specialty Shop Manager will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to each customer, while maintaining a specialty shop that meets or exceeds Scheels standards, including meeting sales, inventory, and margin goals.

The Essentials:

  • Meet or exceed personal sales goals while giving Scheels customers a great experience

  • Be knowledgeable to answer questions concerning location, price and use of merchandise

  • Follow instructions for specific requests from customers, while maintaining safety requirements

  • Analyze reports and make decisions about purchasing of inventory, arrangement of merchandise, and sales trends to meet or exceed Scheels standards

  • Stock shelves, tables, and counters with merchandise while merchandising to Scheels standards.

  • Set up advertising, signs, and merchandise to promote sales

  • Communicate professionally with vendors and/or outside sales representatives

  • Train associates on the proper use and basic knowledge of merchandise

  • Prepare for and facilitate required product knowledge and sales meetings as directed

  • Attend weekly required sales and product knowledge training meetings

  • Be professional in appearance and attitude, contribute to a positive team atmosphere and treat others with respect and consideration while following Scheels' policies and procedures.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to perform basic math; perform operations using units of currency, measurements and understanding percentages.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one or small groups to customers, clients and other employees.

  • Ability to work assigned schedule; may include varied hours, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Expert Experience:

High School diploma, or General Education Degree (GED), one to three months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.

Heavy work Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects


Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 9a.m. and 9p.m., Monday through Saturday, 11a.m. and 6p.m., Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays, must be available minimum of three weekends a month. Average hours per week is 42 hours.

Primary Objective: Responsible for leading application development activities for MTS' corporate and business unit systems. Responsible for assigning staff to projects, managing performance and development of technical staff. In addition will provide technical leadership on key projects or initiatives. Major Areas of Accountability: 1. Supervises the activities of applications development to develop concepts and designs that meet or exceed the requirements when developing new or enhancing existing systems 2. Responsible for developing or supporting staff to develop and monitor schedules on assigned projects and tasks. 3. Creates and supports staff to develop the required design specifications to allow customers and other personnel to accurately review the proposed solution and creates designs which optimize personnel and technical resources. 4. Leads others to implement designs in a manner consistent with appropriate standards and guidelines. 5. Leads or supports staff to thoroughly test and debug programs, applications, and systems, working with other personnel to complete implementation within appropriate life cycle requirements. 6. Identifies and solves problems efficiently, creatively, and effectively, staying organized and clear headed throughout troubleshooting process. Effectively uses diagnostic tools to provide insight into the problem. 7. Insures the completion of assigned tasks within schedule and budget constraints. Promptly takes action to correct variances. Responsible for project completion and user satisfaction. 8. Monitors budget to meet goals and objectives. 9. Responsible for the on-going management and development of assigned staff. Determines staffing and skill requirements to meet business needs. 10. Provides technical leadership on complex projects. Defines the scope, objectives and overall project plans to meet customer needs. 11. Provides roadmap leadership around technologies, development tool sets and processes, and upgrades of technical platforms. 12. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Education: * Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience Experience: * 10 years of progressively demanding project design work. * SAP and application development experience required Preferred Qualifications: * 0 -3 years of previous supervisory experience and lead role of significant projects required. * Experience with cloud-based applications preferred. * Must have excellent communication and relationship building competency, including presentation skills. * Must have proven ability to work without organizational authority in a lateral direction across organizational boundaries to identify business information needs and to organize resources to fulfill them. * Proven track record of successful project completion and end user satisfaction.
