About the Agency
The Virginia Department of Fire Programs enhances public safety in the Commonwealth by providing supplemental funding, training, fire prevention and life safety education, along with statewide fire code enforcement. As a Virginia Emergency Support Team (VEST) agency, operational and technical assistances is provided to communities in need during emergencies of all types. This includes both operational support in the Virginia Emergency Operations center (VEOC) and in-the field deployments.
About the Position
The Virginia Department of Fire Programs (VDFP) seeking a qualified Fiscal Technician to provide support provide support to the Finance & Administration Branch. This position is responsible for performing job functions such as but not limited to accurately and promptly processing employee payable transactions for payroll and travel; providing assistance to the Payroll and Accounts Payable Accountants; and serving as a back up for the Accounts Payable Fiscal Technician with all other accounts payable and financial transactions to ensure compliance with the Commonwealth's accounting policies and procedures.

This position may work up to 29 hours a week, but no more than a maximum of 1500 working hours allowed in a 12-month period from May 1 to April 30.
